muscle shirts

I must be the most oblivious person in the world when I am at WDW. :confused3 :confused3 I never even notice muscle shirts. Cannot ever recall thinking about seeing a mans hairy armpits or not while dining in the restaurants:guilty: :guilty:
The only thing I always comment on is the women I see in high heel shoes. I am always in awe and wonder how in gods name they make it through the day:rolleyes:

Didn't you know, disney is not about disney, it's about staring at other people and complaining how they don't conform to ones way of thinking. As I recall there was something like this that happened back in the 30's, a precursor to WWII.
Actually I wish they would bring back the "Scopes=Monkey Trial" debate!!!!
:rotfl: :lmao:

I think there are very different assumptions as to what is a muscle shirt. My DH has found some very nice light weight sleeveless shirts to wear at WDW when we go in two weeks. They are athletic looking and do not show excess arm pit hair. He would trim it up if they did. I do not see anything wrong with men being able to stay as cool as possible, when women can where a cami, with or without a bra. I am a decently sized woman and I will be wearing double cami's in the park. I do not think that it will offend anyone. I have seen much worse...women wearing bikini tops and shorts, mini's with the back end falling out, and we won't talk about speedos in the pools!

If someone offends you go to the other side of the park!!

Another suggestion is those 'dry fit' shirts. I wear those frequently at Disney. They are just like a regular t-shirt but made of the very light "loose" nylon-lycra type material.

I find they keep me pretty cool with no.. umm.. additional exposure. ;)

OT, sort of, but I don't really care what people wear in restaurants. I'm not all that observant but:

Are any of you out there shorties? I'm only 5'1" and right at a tall man's armpit level. I don't have a problem in restaurants but in crowded queues I often find myself getting a lot more intimate with underarm hair than I'm comfortable with.

Is this seriously a topic of conversation? We're at Disney now and you should see what people are wearing in the parks and at restaurants. Muscle shirts are the least of the problem. We're talking about DISNEY WORLD, not a 5-star restaurant in Manhattan. There are kids running around in bathing suits and princess dresses. I'm sorry if places like the Sci-Fi Dine In and Crystal Palace are considered fine dining to you, but they're not. They're fun restaurants in a theme park.

If you're going to a nice restaurant and there's a dress code, then no, don't wear one.

I say everyone should worry more about where their kids are and having a good time than worrying about what other people are wearing. I've seen more unattended, bratty, lost kids this past week and a half than ever before due to oblivious parents who I guess were too busy looking at what other people were wearing to know where their kids were. But if you want to let someone wearing something ruin your vacation, then hey, go right ahead. No skin off my back.

Babieemelly, I hope I am suitably dressed at all times and would hope my attire did not effect somebody else's enjoyment wether fine dining or not. I controll my children and again am aware that their actions could effect others. What we are talking about here is consideration of other people also using the parks. As you state people are oblivious to what upsets other park users, looking at hairy arm pits and shoulders can kill my appitite and this is just my opinion others may find this perfectly acceptible. This is a discussion forum and I may be totally wrong but to have an opinion doen't mean you are obsesive or a bad parent because of it.

This whole thread just made a cold chill run up my spine! I don't see a problem with a muscle shirt, as long as it is clean, fits and does not have offensive writing on it. I would rather see a persons arms over a persons rear end (the way too short shorts and skirt police should be out at Disney).

I'm not saying you are. I'm just saying, in general, that this is a pretty ridiculous topic. If there's a dress code at a restaurant, then abide by it. But as long as someone's clothes are clean I don't see a problem with it. There are much bigger things to worry about. And I don't at all like how people are judging people by a muscle shirt. Are you serious?! It's 110 degrees out, so wearing a muscle shirt at a theme park makes you classless? Since when are any of you the judges of what's classy? It's very hypocritical for a lot of people on here to act like they abide by the "Disney Code" and the "Polyanna" way of thinking. You say things like "That's not very Disney-like" and then you judge people based on ridiculous circumstances. It's just very senseless and ignorant.

At the left of CanadianGuy's posts q.v. (called the avatar).

HA good catch.. I never thought of that. MY avatar is wearing LESS than a Muscle Shirt. Nobody ever seems upset that Aladdin wears so little.. :)

Hmmm...
