Murder Mystery in Walt Disney World

Elizabeth Swann's report from Cast Members at Animal Kingdom.

So I went to Animal Kingdom today to talk with a few Cast Members. After getting into the park, I headed for Rafiki's Planet Watch. Unfortunately, I was unable to visit the site of the incident, but I was able to talk with one of the snake handlers, who will be known as SH, and one of Rafiki's Planet Watch's security people, who will be known as RPWS. I spoke first to SH.

E: Hello, My name's Elizabeth Swann. I work for the Disney Times. May I ask you a few questions?

SH: No, I don't mind. Fire away.

E: So have you actually worked with the snake in question?

SH: A few times. He never really caused problems before now.

E: So if he never caused problems before, why do you think he caused this?

SH: I know he was well fed. Afterwards we found no injuries on him or illnesses in him that would cause him to act differently. His psychology was normal. I think perhaps he acted on instinct. He is a wild animal.

E: Of course. Do you think he was trying to escape, and the person was just there?

SH: That is also a possibility.

E: So how are you and the other snake handlers feeling?

SH: Honetly? Kinda bad. I mean, it's not like we bit the guest, but its like the snakes are our children. We gotta take reponsibility for them.

E: I see. And what are you doing to prevent future accidents?

SH: Well, we're going to be stepping up security. And we are going to fix and update the enclosures.

E: Thank you.

SH: It was my pleasure Elizabeth.

So while my talk with the Snake Handler was interesting, her answers didn't really give me a good idea on what happened. I then was able to talk to a security man for Rafiki's Planet Watch.

E: Hello, My name's Elizabeth Swann. I work for the Disney Times. May I ask you a few questions?

RPWS: I'm allowed to answer a few questions.

E: Great. So what actually happened here?

RPWS: A snake got out and bit a park guest. Security and Snake Handlers were able to confisticate the snake before it bit someone else.

E: It's good that only one person got hurt and not two or three. How do you think the snake got loose?

RPWS: Could be that the snake found a weakness or a break in it's enclosure. Or someone was careless and accidentally let it out.

E: Do you think someone would let it out on purpose?

RPWS: No. Although we are interviewing every employee who's had recent contact with the snake.

E: Have you gotten any clues from the video camera?

RPWS: We haven't found anything yet. But we are still looking.

E: What are you doing for the guest's family and friends?

RPWS: I am not actually allowed to give much information on this topic. But I can say that Disney will do something.

E: Thank you sir.

RPWS: Thank you.

So there you have it. Exclusive interviews from two people on the event. Elizabeth Swann signing off.

Elizabeth: Finally finished. And now I gotta head off to DHS. It's a press field day today! *heads to buses*

Philby: I still can't find the fob! *Sees Disney Times paper* hmmmmm *walks over to Kiki* Excuse me, do you work for the newspaper?

Elizabeth: *arrives at DHS* Hello, I'd like to speak with some of the witnesses of the event. *flashes press pass.* Great! Thank you! *enters park.*

Philby: Hi, I'm Philby. I was wondering if you have any ads in your paper and if readers can sumbit ads?

Genie: This is great Liz! And if you want I can put an ad in my column.

Kiki: Of course! What do you need to place an ad for?

Philby: Well I seemed to have lost (or you know, it was STOLEN) a small device, looks like a black garage door opener fob. Last seen in EPCOT. Foul play suspected by some of the Disney villians. Please report it to Dell Philby room 2019 at the Wilderness Lodge. Thanks

Kiki: Alright. Our friend Genie is going to put your ad in his column. We'll get it to print as soon as possible.

Elizabeth: *finishes interview. walks away.* Well Kiki, I only managed to get one witness to be in an interview, but it's something.

Philby: Thanks. I REALLY need that back. *thought suddenly occurs to him* What if someone else is crossed over too! *face goes pale* Willa! Oh great. Gotta go, thanks for the ad!
