In Search of New Bras

I am looking for new bras. I have worn Playtex 18 hour bras since I was 16. I have large, heavy, droopy, old boobs. I get a ton of ads for "the best bras ever" but a lot of them only come in S-2XL sizing and not band/cup sizing. Anyone have any suggestions/recommendations for a good full coverage, supportive bra? I have never worn a bra with an underwire but am willing to give it a try.

I am looking for something new/different. I have been ordering the Playtex on Amazon for probably 20 years now and the quality just isn't there anymore.

{{sigh}} I hear you. When you find the "best bras ever", please do let me know. I've got fairly opposite issues to yours but it's still impossible to find something that's just right. We've got nothing left for full-service department stores here in Canada, so there's no chance to go anywhere for a professional fitting, short of $$$ boutiques.

That is my problem too. Locally the only store I have is Kohls and they don't generally have them in my size so I am stuck ordering online.

I've wasted my share of money doing that. Some I return and some I've kept and tried to make due with but the hunt remains elusive for one I really like. If I could find such a thing, I'd probably buy half a dozen.

I've been having issues finding the right cup shape. Things have a changed a lot after a baby and nursing for 2.5 years. I've put it off since they are just so expensive. I ended up going to Kohls and trying on a bunch, I did have to look up sister sizes since they didn't appear to have my size at first. They did have a "sister size" and I was able to find a couple. The most comfortable one I found was made by Warner.

I won't do an underwire. I've found that they hurt my ribs.

Yes I was hoping to find something different. I have been ordering them off Amazon for years. I have ordered a few other brands of Amazon as well and have sent them all back.

I don’t know if they’ll be able to help but we have a place here that’s highly recommended for their fittings and extensive selection. You can buy online, but they also have fitting tips as well as emails listed to reach out to their fitting experts. Of course, a true fitting would need to occur in person but I wonder if they can also provide online support.

So basically going up/down in the cup or band to make the fit work. That makes sense.

Sadly, the Playtex "18 hour" bras are different than they used to be. Similar, but different.

This is a Playtex 18 hr bra but it is the most supportive and comfortable bra I’ve worn. I have the same boob issues you have and this bra fixes all of that for me. Comes in 3 colors and goes up to 48DDD.

I have been tempted by the FaceBook ads for Bralisse.... it is an non wire option that seems to be able to take rather large droopies and make them into perkies. I am tired of stuff that digs in.... hooks in the back... hardware on the straps.

I am also buxom DD/DDD.... been accepting monoboob lately for comfort with a stretchy sports bra, but would appreciate something that looks nicer with better seperation and lift

Don't know about the facebook options. But I love Chantelle bras. They tend to be on the expensive side (I buy at Nordstroms), but they have the best underwire around. Very good coverage and just comfortable overall. I hated all underwires until I tried Chantelle.

Sadly, the Playtex "18 hour" bras are different than they used to be. Similar, but different.

My main issue is the quality doesn’t seem to be there anymore. The elastic on the band doesn't seem to hold up as long. Plus now that I am older the girls have gotten more saggy so I am hoping to find something with a little more lift & support.

I wish the S-XL bras would fit but they don't. I am currently wearing a 46G. And The sizing charts never have that.

Well, I know Chantelle go up to G and H as those were what my mom needed. She wore a 38G or H and she found them just as comfortable. She introduced me to the Chantelle brand.
