Muppets 3D

My DS loved Philarmagic, but got startled and cried when there was the spray of water. In Muppets 3D, what kind of surprises are there like that? Thanks.

Muppets 3D is a much older show (it's almost old enough to drive, LOL) so the in-theater effects are not as invasive as they are now (with the seats stinging you in ITTBAB, or the water in Philharmaic).

The building sort of "crumbles" around you at one point near the end, but the only thing that "touches" you is bubbles coming out of the ceiling (just like one would blow themselves). They float down softly, and most kids love popping them.

I think bubbles falling from the ceiling is the only surprise in Muppets 3D. There's a few of the characters that appear "live", but there's no sudden / startling action that I can recall. This is one of my favorite attractions!

I used to work at Muppets during the College Program...I feel like I have seen that show a million times!

This is a great show, very funny, nothing scary and touching you other than bubbles and Fozzy spraying some water from a flower on his shirt as I recall. But, it does have some loud noises. Towards the end, the Chef brings out a cannon and it makes a loud "boom" sound and the theatre looks like rubble has fallen off the walls. I would encourage you to take him but perhaps warn him that it gets loud at times. Have fun!

This is one of our DD's (6) favorite attractions in all of WDW. The only immersive effects, as mentioned, are the bubbles and the water that squirts from Fozzie's flower (not much compared to MPH).

There are some loud noises, but one recommendation for this attraction and a lot of others is to use ear plugs with your children. This way, the loud noises are muffled but they can still hear everything else. The earplugs work wonders with the nighttime shows as well (Wishes, Illuminations, Fantasmic). Definitely use them for a more enjoyable vacation!

As I recall, a really big muppet character walks near the audience while he's looking for the missing bunny -- he's no longer just on the 3D screen. I didn't find this scary, but a small child might since it's weird and unexpected for a "movie" type show.

Do you think in some of the 3D shows that might bother a 2 yo that my dd could sit on my lap so she wouldn't feel physical effects and not wear the glasses so she won't see them? I think my 5 yo would be okay with most.

I know for sure that you get water shot out at you, and there is the bubbles.

Thanks for all the info. Before we go in, I'll prepare him about what's going to happen. He's usually pretty good with things as long as he knows what to expect first.

No worries with having kids on your lap. Our DD (6) still likes to sit on my laps in the 3D shows (making sure we don't block anyone behind us).
