Welcome, Welcome!! Being that the Super Bowl is Sunday ((:cheer2: GO PATRIOTS!!)) I am curious to know what the MUST HAVE munchies, finger foods staples,or what have you's do you have for the Big Game! Be it your team or not, what is on your Super Bowl Menu, or regular season football menu?? Beer is a given, :rotfl: well it is in our house anyway... Hot wings are a must have, too! We rotate through out the season with Nachos, Jalapeno Poppers, Chips and dips, pizza and pizza bites, quiches, chinese take out, brown sugared Kielbassa in the crock pot ((so Easy - see below)), veggie platters and all that kind of stuff! popcorn:: I am curious to what kind of munchies everyone at football get to gethers??? I am always looking for soemthing new to try!! Lets Share! :surfweb: :cheer2:

Brown Sugar Kielbassa: slice 1or 2 packages of your favorite smoked kielbassa. Add to crock pot with 1 -1 1/2 cups of brown Sugar. Turn to med for about 3 hours. The juices from the kielbassa mixes with the liquified brown sugar and is So yummie!!

Fellow New Hampshirean here!

My favorite "munchie" is definately Kettle Chips! They're a little pricey (can run 4 bucks a bag:scared:), but they're worth it. I especially love the goat cheese and red pepper/tuscan three cheese ones, with honorable mention to New York Cheddar, Island Jerk, Spicy Thai (got some in the cubbard right now, uh-oh:lmao:), and Yogurt and Green Onion!

I also make a dip (not necessarily for the Super Bowl) that basically starts with your favorite guacomole (a great timesaver of mine is the substutution of True Lemon powder for lemon juice, my DD13 thought of it, it's real lemon, not like this crystal light stuff). If you have, say, one cup of guacomole, add 3/4 of a cup of cream cheese and 1/4 of a cup of sour cream, and add some chopped red onion. I serve it with Tostitos natural blue corn chips, it comes out great!

Another great dip I make is a fresh pea dip (frozen peas work too, but never canned). It's really easy, I can't remember the measurements off the top of my head, but you basically grind up some peas in a food processer (not like baby food though, you still want some chunks), and add a little chopped roasted onion, fresh grated parmesan reggiano cheese, salt, and pepper. I serve this with homemade melba toasts, I slice up a baguette, dab a little olive on the pieces, and bake/broil them for a couple of minutes. I do the same thing with fava beans when they're in season.

Enjoy your game, we'll be rooting for the Pats!

Not a fan of either team but a fan of the NFL (made sure I planned our last Disney trip around the super bowl just in case the Panthers made it LOL).

We will have wings, nachos, pigs in a blanket, veggies/dip, brownies and maybe sausage balls. Lots of fun junk food.

Not sure what the neighbors are bringing!

:confused3 I thought this would be a fun and popular thread!!??:confused3 I guess everyone is either busy planning their Disney Vacations or are keeping their Game Day vittles a big secret!!??

We are doing both. We leave on Friday and can not wait. 17 days of fun and some work oh well there is no pergect.

I am going to try fried chicken from Paula Deans recipe. We live in NE so that is a given.

We are having Green Chile White Chicken Enchiladas, 7 layer taco dip, chili dip, Red Sauce Enchiladas, and homemade spnaish rice. My mom came up with the 'meal plan'. Dh wants wings, cheese sticks, and other various junk. I think we might end up with a mixed buffet. :thumbsup2

Mixed buffet is what we always go for! Something for everyone!! And enough substance to keep you full!

If we were home in Wisconsin---(even when our Packers don't go to Superbowl), we grill (even if it's 0) brats and burgers. 7 layer dip is a must have, lots of home made cookies, kick off bars, spreads, a cheese tray, m&m's, snack mixes, chips etc. This year we have to be in Rochester, NY for my son to have a doctor appointment so my family will be tailgating from our room. Don't know what that will entail this year, but I'm totally missing the superbowl party vibe we normally have...:confused3

I am planning on seven layer dip but made a little differently than most. I do the refried beans on the bottom, sour cream (but I don't mix in the taco seasoning), guacamole, shredded lettuce, a pound of ground beef made with taco seasoning (I just use Old El Paso and follow the directions on the package), shredded cheese, chopped tomatoes, chopped green onion, and chopped black olives all served with tortilla chips.

I will also be doing pizza bread. I take frozen bread dough, let it thaw and rise, roll it out into a rectangle and brush it with an egg. Then I use whatever toppings I want. Tomorrow it will be Italian seasoning, Italian sausage and cheese for one, Italian seasoning, pepperoni and cheese for the other. Roll the bread back up into a loaf, bake according to directions for the bread and cut and serve with warmed up marinara sauce.

Easy crock pot meatballs will be there too. I use frozen meatballs from Sam's and throw them in the crock pot. Then I microwave Heinz chili sauce and grape jelly in equal parts until they are combined. Cover the meatballs with them and let it cook.

There will probably be Rice Krispie Treats, brownies, and caramel popcorn too for sweets along with whatever everyone else brings. Oh, and lots of beer! But we are all neighbors so no one is driving. Have a fun and safe time!

If you don't want to bother with making wings, this dip is the second best thing! Mix shredded cooked chicken with equal parts cream cheese and blue cheese dressing. Add as much Frank's Louisianna Hot Sauce as you can stand (LOL) mix it up and serve with crackers or tortilla chips.

Ok, here ya go, I am making a super duper yummy appetizer here goes, good eatin y'all

Ok buy 2 cans of cresent rolls or box of puff pastry your choice... brown ground beef, chop and add white onion & garlic, then add your taco seasoning (according to directions) in skillet, get 9/11 inch pan: place rolled out crescent roll pkg along bottom..nice and smooth, add your beef mixture, then sprinkle some colby/chedder chesse, then crunch up some tortilla chips, then add beef, then cheese, then tortilla chips, then finish with last can of crescent roll seal the crescent roll around edge of pan, bake at 350' until golden on top. Layer like lasagna.....after baked add shredded lettuce, and chopped tomatoes, sour cream, YUMMYpopcorn:: :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Go TEAM GO! I don't really care about the super bowl, I just like the food & the commercials:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

GO GIANTS!!!

So far I have mini dogs(don't know what I am doing with them)
We are having train wreck fries
(french fries smothered in cheese, bacon, jalepeno, scallions dipped in ranch dressing..omg to die for goodness)
chicken wings(I just bake them with salt and pepper and then mix them up with some Franks red hot sauce and that's it)
Mini burgers(if I can find the little rolls- I use parker house rolls usually)
homemade chicken fingers

And whatever else I can come up with.
Oh and a baked brie with walnuts/raspberry wrapped in pastry

GO GIANTS

So thankfully my MIL is making snacks and dinner for the game, but Grandma is making her "special" snack. Pigs in a Blanket.... if she could I think G'ma would have these at least once a week. Other then that just probably chips and dip... Im going to get veggies and I think I may try to make pasta roll ups. Basically is like making lasagna but instead of making a huge pan I just take the noodles and spread ricotta and roll them up. Pour a bunch of ground italian turkey and sauce on the top and bake for 30 minutes. That way each person gets a the same amount.

* JAVA Im so jelous I want brie.... can you send some my way in June when I pop this kid out!:rotfl:

As a mom of 4 that painfully sat through the last pregnancy a mere 2 years ago I know that feeling. For me it was Feta. I wanted it so bad and I couldn't have it. Then as soon as Noah was born a feta tomato omlete was all I wanted.

I think of you as we are eating it. And know that this too shall pass. Congratulations!!

Best Wishes to you on your Pregnancy!! I have 3 little princes myself - You will be surprised how fast it goes by once its over - when you are in the middle of your pregnancy, it feels like it drags by. But in hind-sight,when you reflect on it, it goes way faster than you might think!! Take Care! :cloud9:

PS I remember being pregnant during super bowls too! DS was born not log after - we named him BRADY... Guess who won that game?? LOL

You HAVE to try this! I made this a few weeks ago for a Happy Hour and it was the hit of the party! I served it with Ritz Crackers. YUMMO. I don't think the Parmesean on the top added much, I will leave it off next time.
------------
Jalepeno Popper Spread
Serve with sliced sourdough baguettes, tortilla chips or crackers

INGREDIENTS
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup mayonnaise
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies, drained
2 ounces canned diced jalapeno peppers, drained
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

DIRECTIONS
Stir together cream cheese and mayonnaise in a large bowl until smooth. Stir in green chiles and jalapeno peppers. Pour mixture into a microwave safe serving dish, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Microwave on High until hot, about 3 minutes.
Baked Variation

If you would like to brown the cheese, bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for about 30 minutes.

Sounds Yummie!! Now that Football is over :sad1: I will have to make this for The Daytona 500! Thanks for sharing. Tough loss for us New England fans, but it was a hell of a game! The Giants wanted it more and deserved to win! There is always next year and the Red Sox!

Sorry for your loss, I know DS17 was sure upset last night!

After the game the first thing he said was "So, how 'bout them Red Sox?".
