Multiple TV owners ever noticed this?

We have 2 tvs. One is in the living room and the other in the bedroom about 15 to 20 feet away. If both tvs are on and tuned to the same channel you notice the oddest thing. The living room tv runs about 2 seconds behind the bedroom tv. It sounds like an echo. Anyone else ever notice this phenomenon? Anyone know what causes it?

Yes- we just got TiVo and noticed this right away.

I guess that's part of how TiVo does what it does. I love the thing!!!

We have 3 TV's - if we were to put them on the same channel, we get a second or 2 delay also. We do not have tivo - just cable!

I have the same thing in my house. My living room tv is about 2-5 seconds behind the others. This is because that tv is hooked up to the cable box, the others aren't. There is a delay when the signal goes through the box, I would think Tivo does this too. It is annoying, so I learned to turn the other tvs louder to drown out the slow one of the bunch.

Well, on my end we have two TV's about 40 feet away and do not notice this. It doesn't happen for us.

LOL! I just noticed this a few weeks ago when I went to tape something upstairs, that I was watching downstairs. I don't have Tivo. DH thought it may have to do with the way the cable affects the signal, but I think he really has no clue. ;)

We have this problem too and don't have TIVO. I have Windows XP media edition on my computer and I get the delay on my computer if I put the same channel on in the living room.

I've never tried it on the bedroom TVs though.

We live between Baltimore and DC, and get both sets of stations. If one TV is set to the Baltimore station and one to the DC station of the same network, we get this. Otherwise, we don't, even though one TV is on cable and the other isn't.

Same here, no tivo, just cable and the same thing happens.

We also have this problem and we don't have Tivo. The only time it's a problem is when two people are watching the same sporting event. It takes a little bit of the fun away when you can hear someone yell "TOUCHDOWN!" from the other room before it happens on your TV!

I first noticed this when we got our digital cable. DH said that the digital has a bit of a delay on it.

The one with the cable box is the one that is delayed. The one plugged directly into the jack is ahead. Dh says it takes the box a couple seconds to unscramble the digital signal. It's good to know it's not just us. I was afraid there was something wrong with our tv or wiring.

Yep, our living room TV (with the box) is a few seconds behind our bedroom (no box).

TiVo, Cable boxes and TVs that do signal processing will be behind other TVs that don't have this. Also you will find that HDTV and regular stations are not in sync either.

The DIS is definitely a go to for everything!! :goodvibes

My daughter and I rarely watch the same show, but I found we were both watching the American Girl movie a few weeks back and noticed the delay for the first time. I thought it was odd, but didn't think much about it until I see this thread...my tv in the living room does have a box and I think it is the one that delayed a few seconds...mystery solved

The DIS rocks!
