Hi! I currently have two contracts, one at OKW and one at BWV. Since I bought both on the resale market, I have two member numbers. I think of each contract as totally separate. I have never added on to either.

We are thinking about buying two 50-point AKV contracts instead of one 100 point contract. Are the points pooled together so I can use all 100 points at once? Or, are the contracts broken up so if I have 2 nights at 30 points each (for a total of 60 points) will I have to take 30 points from each contract? I am assuming that they act like one contract so I would have 40 pooled AKV points and not 20 and 20.

Secondly ... if I should want to sell in the future, can I sell one 50 point contract and not the other?

Thanks everyone!

Robin, my understanding is this is why people are buying them in 50 pt sections...so they can sell one off and not the other.

And with my Grand Villa for May. I called each morning to book it. The one day they took 32 points from my VWL account and the other 13 points from my SSR account. It was 45 points for that one day.

If your points are in the same use year, they can be combined as one member number. I assume your two existing contracts are different use years.

We have one member number and three contracts, all with the same use year, which show as
contract nnnnnnnn.000 Boardwalk
contract nnnnnnnn.001 Vero
contract nnnnnnnn.002 Hilton Head

We get only one bill, for all three contracts' dues.

If you want to buy two AKL 50 point contracts, I suggest getting the same use year as at least one of your existing contracts. That way you could probably end up with still only two member numbers, instead of three or four.

Just a little something to consider, you will save $8.00 a point by buying one 100 point contract.

I believe someone else that bought this way said they got the $8 off, even though it was separate 50 pt contracts.

Mine is this way as well, but we got two different bills. Two different due dates on them too, 14 day difference.

That's what we're going to do. In fact, we're selling our OKW contract to fund the 100 pt AKV and (crossing all fingers and toes) possible CRV contract.

That's good to know! So, I can use a combination of BWV points and AKV points for any resort at the 7-month mark? Cool! :cool1:

We plan on doing that, but we're going to take the 100 Developers Points instead. I think I'll call my guide to double-check that I can do that. ETA: I just checked and I get the Development Points with 2 50-point contracts.

You will get the $8 off on two 50 point contracts. You will however have to pay the $500 deposit for each rather than $500 one-time on a 100 point contract.

OK so what are development points as opposed to regular points?:confused3

Yes, you pay $101 per point for contracts totaling 100 points or more and you get a one-time allotment of "Developer's Points" on a 1-1 basis. Those points have a "shelf-life" of 7 months after your purchase and you can't bank them.

So, I'm getting 100 "Developer Points" to use in the next 7 months.

If you have two membership numbers, those are as separate from each other as yours are from mine.

No matter whether you get two 50 point contracts, or a single 100 point contract, have it all into just one of your two membership number contracts.

Do NOT put 50 points under one membership number and another 50 points under the other membership number.

All points under a single membership number can be combined at 7-months to make reservations at any DVC resort. Additionally, the banking percentages apply to the total number of points under each membership number, not to the number of points for each individual resort contract.

DVC numbers contracts as 'master' and add-on. When you purchase resale, you can retain the add-on extension number from the original purchaser.

Example: Membership Number 1234567890 may have three contracts, numbered:

12345.000
12345.001
12345.002

But a separate membership number 123123123123 may have two contracts, but they will be under a different contract number also, such as:

54321.000
54321.001

Hope this helps

Alright now I know what they are how do you get them. If I purchase 125 points do I get them? What's the deal?:confused3 still a little confused Guess I can always ask my guide.

I thought you had to pay 10% down? So cost-wise it would work out the same either way, but would be done in two transactions on your credit card.

10% is just a suggestion and it can be lower. At least it was for us back in Sep. when we added 130 SSR points. I put $500 down and paid the balance a few months later. We stretched it out as long as we could, but we used the points before that...well booked with them.

Yes, ask your guide. If you purchase 125 AKV points you can choose between $8 off or 125 "Developers Points". The incentives are for purchases of 100 points or more.
