We've booked at our 11 month window for OKW, arriving December 29, leaving January 7. We thought it would be nice to stay at OKW for the first 5 days, then move to another resort - either AKV or BLT. My questions are for those that have done this before. We didn't plan to rent a car, but is that the easiest to move resorts? Or a cab ride? I didn't think riding the buses would be that convenient, as we'd have to go to Epcot or DD or Holllywood studios and then transfer to another resort bus. Maybe going to MK and then over to BLT would be easiest or AK and then AKV, but is this frowned upon?

Thanks for any info you may provide.

We do it every year. Disney will move you so the only hastle's are having to check in a second time and of course packing your bags to move to the next resort. The upside is it is like starting a new vacation when you move! Last year we went from BCV to AKV. This year we are going from AKJamba to AKKidani.

Yes, it is easier to use a car to move resorts during the same trip--BUT it is really only important if you need to have your bags with you at a specified time. Disney will move your bags between the resorts for you. YOu can ask the front desk or concierge to have your bags moved to the resort you are going to & then hop a bus to DTD, then get the bus to your next resort & check in. When your bags arrive from your previous resort they will put them in your room. You just dont know when they will arrive. But in the meantime you can be at a park letting Disney do that work for you. (Or since you will be at OKW, you can take the boat to DTD & then get the bus to you new resort)
