A friend of me gave me 5 old world hopper passes, each having 1 day left on it. Can I bring those to the ticket window at the park and get them to convert those days to one 5 day ticket? I called 1-407-wdisney and they said they never heard of using unused days on old tickets, even after checking with a manager. They said they were probably no good, but to take them to a Disney Store and they would let me know if they had days available on them that I could use. I think I just got the wrong person on the phone. Can anybody help me!??

DOn't you just love what you get from Disney sometimes? :rotfl:

The tickets are still good but you cannot get them combined into one five day hopper. Disney does not allow the combining of more than one ticket per new one in any circumstances. They need to able to track the cost of each ticket.

Since they all have one day left, you have two options. You can take them to Guest Relations and have all five of them converted to the maginetic strip tickets (you'll get five of them back, not one) and you can use them just like you would use any other ticket.

Or you can use them as they are at the turnstile. Since there's only one day left on them, they won't (shouldn't! but never say never) make you convert them. They will just stamp them. You can use the Fastpass system with these old tickets by showing them to the CM at the FP machine. They will override the machine and give you you FP's.

Just wanted to add that if they are tickets that were issued before some of the parks opened, I am pretty sure they will only be good at the parks that were open at the time the tickets were issued.

Last May we were told we had to convert our old tickets to magnetic strip tickets to use Fastpass. Getting FP's from the CM wasn't given as an option. The CM's at the gate said they didn't have any way to stamp them either, so we had to go to guest services.

Also, if you have a pass with more than one park you will get a hopper in return. We had one MK only ticket from 1981 that could only be used for one park (didn't matter which one though) and one MK/Epcot ticket from 1986 that was exchanged for a hopper. I don't think they have the ability to give you a MK/Epcot only hopper, but I may be wrong.

Thanks for all your help! They have magnetic strips so that is not a problem. However, I will have to check if AK was open when they had them and what I will have to do about that. Thanks again!

All park hopping tickets are now good at all four parks regardless of what parks were in existence when the ticket was purchased.

Forgive me for questioning that, but a few years ago we had tickets from just before AK opened, and were told that they couldn't be used for AK. Has Disney policy changed over the last few years?

Yes. A parkhopper is a parkhopper for all the parks. One thing that Disney gives you. :)

The policy was changed about nine months after AK opened. It was due in part to the unexpected lack of average daily attendence at AK. It was Disney's way of trying to boost (read: inflate) the park attendence.

If anyone told you that you couldn't use your PH ticket at AK after January of 1999, they gave you bad information.

You need to make sure the "DAYS" are not Plus Options[that are used for swim parks and PI]

Park days are different than Plus option days.

When we were there in December, there was *rarely* a CM working the Fastpass Distribution. Maybe that's why you have to convert....no staff to help you...

It would have been shortly after AK opened that we were told we couldn't use the hoppers we'd bought the previous year.

Okay, that fits. From the time AK opened in April of '98 until January of '99, they required you to pay a fee to upgrade any pass purchased prior to 4/98 to include admission to AK. That restriction was dropped in 01/99. All tickets from that point on were accepted as is for AK admission.
