It is possible to have as many as you want. Even for the same day and same meal. Just need to create different MDE profiles.I cannot see how they can make that many per evening. That being said, they can make multiple ones if they are 1 hour apart. They could make one at different locations 1 hr apart, but I cannot see them doing that more than 3 per night or you would have times you really do not want. I know you can do this because I had 2 on one of our nights. When I made a new reservation, I assumed it would say "do you want to replace so and so" or "cancel" your reservation at so and so before continuing. One time it let me make the reservation without cancelling the other one. I looked and they were 65 minutes apart. So I do know this is possible, but the 7 or 8 doesn't seem probable, unless they are making 2 of each meal, if that is the case, they could have 6 minimum.
Valid Theme Park tickets are not required to make ADRs. Only a valid credit card to hold the reservation.
I don't know how many people actually go through the trouble of doing this. I had no problems getting all my ADRs at my 180 day mark by simply playing by the rules.
Also I've been reading about people that book a fake trip with an arrival date BEFORE their actual arrival date just to get a jump on the first half of their stay. For example. Let's say you have an arrival date of Jan. 5th and will be staying for 10 days. Everyone knows that you should book hard-to-get ADRs for the end of your stay to increase your chances. But if you also book a fake arrival date of Jan. 1st, you would be able to make ADRs for the first 5 days of your real stay. Then cancel that resort reservation and keep the ADRs. I do think Disney should do something to stop this but I'm not sure if it's worth the time and money to them.
