Multi-day passholders and Universal Express

I've read in two different books that multi-day passholders can get up to three Universal Express passes at one-time. This is different than what's posted on these boards. Does anyone know which is correct?

In the past that was true, but it changed a couple years ago. Now you can only hold one express pass at a time. Staying on site gets you all day automatic express access by showing your room key.

I tried for a express pass yesterday and a prompt comes up on the screen informing me of when I can get another one. And I have an annual pass!l
