*~* Muggles, Welcome to the Burrow! *~*

I take it Harry Potter is a family affair in your household. As long as you promise to invite me to the wedding, I don't care!

Yes, it really is. And it's been so much fun. I started reading the books because she wanted to, and I thought I should pre-screen them for her. Now it's something we do together.

We even have costumes that we wear to the book release parties and movie premieres. She is Hermione and I have been Mrs. Weasley in the past, which was fun, but I was thinking of changing to a new costume. I'd love to be Mrs. Figg, and carry around a stuffed cat and shopping bag full of tuna, but I think that would embarrass her too much! I might try McGonnagal, if I can find a suitable hat.

Anyway, we have loads of fun together, and we are saving up for our dream trip - to London to attend the premiere of the 7th movie. And of course my daughter's plan is that Daniel will see her at the premiere and fall in love.

:lmao: :rotfl2: that would probably be the best ending to a book ever!!

i wonder if maybe Snape knows about the Horcrux's??? since he's Voldy's "right-hand man" and all? that would be interesting.

We used to make jokes about this. We'd be like...Harry's so dumb he'll never find the Horcruxes on his own. He'll all of a sudden get random owls or a patronus, and think DD's back from the dead, but it'll be Snape giving him clues :)

I think it is great that you share this together.

My DS12 loved going dressed as Harry to the last book release, and he would love to go to London too. When he was younger, we were always stopped by people telling us he looks like Harry Potter. We could not go to the mall with out being stopped at least 3-4 times. It was even worse when he got "Harry" glasses. I am actually kinda sad that he is out-growing it. Here is a picture of him two summers ago summer, after he won the look-a-like contest at the book release. Even here, he has started to not look so much like the character. The other picture is of him this past December. (sorry about the size)

Well that's an interesting thought. Because all this time, I thought the only way to truly defeat an evil wizard would be to use AK. That's how I thought DD killed Grindewald. I never thought it was something you had to be evil to do. I guess my line of thinking was that yes, it's considered a dark art but sometimes don't you have to fight fire with fire? And if you're a powerful enough wizard/witch, wouldn't you be able to use AK for a good cause without it having any adverse effects on you? (i.e. being seduced by the dark arts and wanting to use them for evil)

Because when JKR says DD "defeated" Grindewald I assumed she mean killed. How else would he be completely eradicated? But I don't know any other way to kill a wizard except for AK. So I thought that's what he did.

Actually in (I think it was GoF), someone mentioned that the ministry officals looking for Deatheaters were given the authority to kill the Deatheaters. However, the same person mentioned that Madeye Moody always brought his back alive. So yes, I think even someone like Dumbledore could've/would've used AK if necessary.

Okay - all this horcrux talk got me thinking! What if Harry’s wand is a horcrux?

I think wands will be involved somehow. I feel as if JKR has made them too significant not to be, especially since the core is from Fawke's tail. Phoenix symbolism is all over the place. That might make an interesting future topic.

Many have mentioned that LV could have possibly brought an object with him, to the Potters that he was planning to turn into a horcrux after his murder spree. He could have had the wand there, especially since it’s so similar to his own… (Remember how everyone found that to be so interesting?!?!) Perhaps Voldy did in fact turn the wand into a horcrux when it was all over, then it was planted for someone to find later on… (Similar to what was done with the diary and the ring…)

since most wizards and witches know even wandless spells

In the end, LV could accidentally destroy one of his own horcruxes and Harry could cast a wandless spell that would do him in…

I guess we’ll all just have to wait and see! Happy theorizing for now!

I also remember reading that.

Interesting, but I don't think so.
Lord Voldemort had a chnce to get Harry's wand in the graveyard (which I think he would have wanted to do if he had made it into a horcrux). I also don't think the wand would have been able to work against LV in the graveyard if it had been a horcrux holding part of his soul.

I DO think that DD's wand will have some role later on. We know it wasn't broken after his death like the poem read by Horace Slughorn at the funeral for Aragog.

Also, one thing I just thought about.
When the killing curse that LV meant for Harry rebounded on LV, the description is that he was 'ripped out' of his body. So, he was just a soul with no body, limited to possessing the body of whatever small animal (or wizard came along). So, was that the part of him that he meant to put into the horcrux? Or maybe, instead of the little split he meant to make, it just tore his entire soul away from his body?

They were given the authority to kill, says Sirius, but he uses the phrase "powers to kill", (GoF, Chap 27). "The Aurors were given new powers - powers to kill rather than capture" - without mentioning AK at all....so perhaps there is another spell for killing in self-defense.

I don't think Harry's wand is a horcrux. It was in a box in Ollivanders shop for however many years, and since then, it has been with Harry, except for brief periods.

Remember - Voldemort chooses things that are of both intrinsic value and personal significance to him. And he hides them in obscure places that are only relevant to him, and are guarded by a series of curses.

Whatever the missing horcrux is, I don't see how it is possible for it to be out in the open, or to be some ordinary object like a wand.

ahaha! yeah don't feel bad, i think he's cute too. him and the Draco kid, the Twins, and Cedric. ........so you're not alone.

Oh good, it's not just me. Along with Harry I like Fred (James Phelps) too, and I certainly won't forget Oliver Wood (Sean Biggerstaff) anytime soon. Now that I'm getting down to it, Viktor Krum wasn't so bad either.

I actually just read that JK Rowling has mentioned that Viktor Krum will make an appearance in the book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Hmm...that's an interesting thought.
