Okay, I'm sure this has been answered somewhere - I just can't seem to find it! I know that the old refillable drink mugs are being phased out. I think they're moving to the scanning mugs?

I would like to find out if this is applicable to butterbeer souvenir mugs? Will I need to buy new butterbeer mugs?

Thanks!

Can you only refill the butterbeer mugs with butterbeer? Or can you use them for soda refills also?

You can refill them with soda as well, both in IOA and US. Last September it was something like 85¢.

There were selling them when I was there last week. The freestyle coke cups are also available but only available in select locations, I didn't see any carts with freestyle coke machines

What locations can you use the butterbeer mugs for refills? CS locations? Or carts only? Pardon all the questions. We haven't been to IOA since 2003, and the studios since 2000 so everything is pretty new to us.:)

I believe you can get the refills anywhere in the park, but I think butter beer is only available in the harry potter section and there is no discount on butter beer.

Red cups can be refilled anywhere for 99 cents. the freestyle cups need to be reactivated after one days use. The butter beer cups can be used for soda but be warned, the butter beer smell will permeate and your soda will taste like butterbeer!

But I thought they were phasing those out? Or is it that they're just not going to be selling them anymore?

They really don't seem to be getting rid of them. People thought so back at the beginning of the year, but in Feb they were still selling them and I took pictures to prove it. And they are still selling them.

I can't see them eliminating them, the freestyle machines are too expensive to have at every cart.
