Muddy Buddy Training!

We ran on a track yesterday instead of the treadmills. It does make all the difference. I didn't want to stop. It felt good. But DP's legs were sore and it was time for yoga, so I had to. Biked 7 miles afer yoga. I feel AWESOME this morning!:goodvibes:yay::yay:(jumping jack smiley)
I think I am going to go for a run in the morning before work, get the heart pumping a little earlier.
Very nice workout Todd! :thumbsup2 How far did you go on the track? So you ran, yoga, and biked? Very impressive.

Thanks! I was very surprised to see it there.
How's your running going Chris?

I got a little over 3 miles in today. It's getting nice out there. Yay!

Oh, the shirts are all ordered too. We all owe Corey a big thank you for getting the logo to me.

I ran and biked on Saturday. I needed to take some rest days because that was pretty stressful on my body. I planned to walk/run in my neighborhood tonight. I want to start walking/running/biking the race (all 6 miles) so I will be ready for the length of the race.

Chris, my advice from marathon training is that you only need to do the entire length of the race once or twice. Don't plan on doing that every day. It would probably be too hard on your body right now. I would think if you could do short run/walks of 3 miles or less on the weekdays, and then maybe build up to 6 miles one day on the weekend you will be in good shape. Just don't do too much too fast, or you'll hurt yourself.

Thanks Dave. I actually rested tonight and plan to run tomorrow. Thanks for the help and guidance! :thumbsup2

Played hoops for 2-3 hours tonight, good workout. Felt awesome playing after taking a days rest yesterday.

Tomorrow back to running/biking and some weights.

As I said on the other thread, I'm amazed and humbled. My thanks go out to all the generous people out there. I thank them so much for supporting us.

I agree that this total far surpasses what I thought would happen!

Thanks to everyone!

And I will definately BRING ON THE MUD!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

I'm going to do a speedy run today. 3 miles at intervals. quarter mile fast, 100 yard jog and so on and so on. It's very tiring but helps with run times. :thumbsup2 The weather here is improving, so it's much easier to get outside and enjoy a run. OK, Maybe not "enjoy", but you know what I mean. ;)

I had a very un-inspired 30 min ride on the stationary bike yesterday. I just was not feeling it. I should have gotten my actual bike out. It would have been much nicer to be outside.

I agree...The weather is beautiful and it makes it much easier to get out and run.

I'm going to do the muddy buddy run/bike today. 1 mile run 1 mile bike for 3 of each. I think I'll do that once a week until race time.

I didn't have a very inspired workout yesterday either. About 30 mins on the aerodyn bike in 4-5 min full speed intervals. Then I had to work a track meet for 4 hrs.

I ended up playing a unit whiffle ball game today. Not much of a workout but we had a good time. :thumbsup2

Got my 1 mile bike 1 mile run x3 in today. I was pretty happy with the results, I'm still slow, but I was able to pull off the last mile on the bike in just over 3 minutes. I still hate running....have I mentioned that yet! :rolleyes1

Nice job on the bike/run Don.

I did, ummmmm, nothing today. I got busy at work and didn't get away for my run. I'll get back at it tomorrow.

My motivation level is at zero right now. It's strange how there is an ebb and flow with working out. I'm going to the gym today to try and spark myself into a good training session.

Nice job Don! I hate it too, unfortunately. But, let's keep at it!

Yea...I don't know what it is, but you'd think with the nice weather we've had lately I'd want to go out there and hit it hard. I've been running, just not as much as I'd like. I will be getting out today.

I have some motivation for you!! :)

You have some very wonderful people who have donated over $2000 to see you guys in this race and to support a wonderful cause like GKTW!!!

You also have several people who are getting up at the butt crack of dawn (including Kevin and John - who are usually not functional before noon) to come cheer you on during this race!!! So, if you don't do well, we will retaliate!!!

And if that doesn't motivate you, think of Bawb!! You know he would have been front and center cheering you guys on. I know he will be watching all of you that morning and beaming with pride!! You know how important this cause is too Bawb and to all those kids that GKTW helps on a DAILY basis.

With that said, get off your butts, and get ready!!!!

Did that help???
