Ok racers, anyone else getting nervous about this. I feel like I might be in over my headI'm not one for the spotlight....
HEY OVER HERE WITH THAT SPOTLIGHT I'M TALKING ABOUT HOW I DON'T LIKE THE SPOTLIGHT!!
yea, hopefully its just from listening to the call in show making me nervous. I've watched some of the videos and I have to be in as good as shape as some of the people in those videos![]()
Thanks Kathy! Dunkin Donuts coffee is the best! Woo!!!
I'm really looking forward to the race, but I do have 2 fears.
1. Will I meet my teammates expectations; and I don't just mean Dave. I hope you guys aren't waiting too long for me at the mud pit. I was being serious when I told Don to bring a deck of cards with him.
2. I'm worried how I'm going to feel the next day before we leave for the cruise. I'm a little nervous about soreness and fatigue the days after the race. I really do want to perform well during the race, but I'll have to keep a slower pace than usual so I don't feel miserable the days following the race. I hope you guys will understand?
I think we are all our own worst enemy. I really don't have an expectations for anyone else, I just feel like I won't keep up to my own expectations! At 35 I can't do things I could do 4-5 years ago. I see it every week when I play basketball with all 20 somethings.
I'm the oldest and fattest of us all and I fear nothing about this race! What you guys are doing for these kids is awesome, and any pain that comes with your effort will be rewarded by a bunch of happy kids. I'm proud to be running with all of you. Now suck it up and lets keep training!!!![]()
From where I stand that looks like muscle...not fat...but back to training. Sir. Yes, sir.
Some muscle, some fat. I'm old. What can you do?![]()

I am with Todd. Sir Yes Sir!!!
Just to catch up...
I would like a Blue Shirt as well with no name on it.
I think that I am the fattest here, but anyway.
I am excited about the amounts that people have donated! WOW!!!!
Thanks to everyone for donating and supporting these kids.
I worked out this morning and then ran my .5 mile and it felt good. I am going to try 1 mile tomorrow. Woo Hoo!
Baahaaa...I doubt that is a true statement....well the old part yea.
Never call a SGT. Sir...bad Todd
Same for you...never call him Sir, he turns green and gets angry

So how shall we address him?Ma'am?
No apologies necessary at all Paul. That's exactly the type of detail I wanted, and why I wanted to double check with everyone. OK, I think I've heard from everyone now on the shirts.Dave, the B in Launchpa11B has to be capitalized. Sorry to be picky, it's a military thing. 11B is my job designator. Thanks.
4 miles then a back & arm workout today. That usually wears me out pretty thoroughly. Our total for GKTW is amazing. 1 month to go guys! I'm really looking forward to this!![]()
True Navy is fine. I don't want to make things difficult. (On a side note, both DP and Mom thought the Safety Green looked good. I am probably the only one that would wear a shirt that color in public....)
ETA: The trainer last night didn't laugh hysterically. She just smiled and said that it was very feasible.
I think the plan that we devised for next week at the gym is:
Mon: Run-1 hour, Cycle-30 mins., Yoga-1 hour
Tues: Run-30 mins., Yoga-1 hour, Aquarobics/Laps-1 hour
Wed: Run-30 mins., Cycle-30 mins., Those machine things (light day...its chat night...)
Thurs: Cycle-30 mins., Aquarobics/Laps-1 hour, Run-30 mins
Fri: 15 minute alternating Cycle/Run-1.5 hours, those machine things

Wow, I'm pretty impressed that your trainer has you running an hour already. Just make sure you get some rest and recovery time in too - especially the week before the race.True Navy is fine. Glad you are feeling better Don.I'm back in action. Still got a chest cough, but gotta get back out for a run. Got some weights in during the cold at least.
