Characters: Jarrid & Teresa (both 25); Ingmar (30s); Rich (??); My mom (shhh), Teresa’s Mom (shhh), Melissa (Big V) (21?); Ron Stoppable (17); Sister Laura (20s); Stinky (6-8); Dancing Guy (40s); Leader of the Pack (15-17)

It’s 12:15 AM…Teresa enter our room a little bit annoyed…it’s just so hard to sleep. Every which way we turn the burns are stinging. Yes, we forgot the sunscreen and we spent the whole day (including the “Share a Dream Come True” parade) in the blazing sun, constantly misting ourselves at Magic Kingdom. We both looked like Sebastian from The Little Mermaid! About a half hour ago, Teresa decided we needed some aloe and she thought she’d quickly run to the store in the resort (Zawadi Marketplace) thinking it closed at midnight…, but to our dismay it closed at 11! She headed to the front desk, but they had nothing in their First Aid kit. Not giving up (I hate to see my baby in pain) I told her to call the front desk again, and ask for any sort of suggestion. THIS time she spoke to someone who said they would open the store for her since they were out of any type of burn crème in the kits. We were thrilled at the immediate attention we received!

Teresa ran back down and put her credit card on the room key (since that was the only way they could charge her after hours) and the manager sold her some aloe and sunscreen. Thank goodness! AKL thrives in guest services, and that’s another reason I love this resort! Kudos to the staff at AKL for helping us make the rest of our night bearable! We went to bed and floated into dreamland…

The wake-up call got us up at 6:15 once again and we showered and got ready for our first day at the Disney-MGM Studios. We ate breakfast at Mara again. I got the oatmeal (because it looked yummy) and Teresa asked for scrambled eggs. My oatmeal was incredibly watery and bland, so I decided not to eat that again. I added some sugar and ate what I could. We scarfed down our breakfast in the same spot we ate yesterday (with the exact same cartoons next to us) and hopped on the bus towards the Studios.

Teresa was not quite sure what to expect since we had experienced 1 ½ extremely magical days at MK. As we drew closer to the new park, she began getting a bit hyper, knowing she was in for something a little different. How exciting! I wasn’t allowed early into the park like in MK, but they were not mean about it. I told Teresa to stay close to the right, but not all the way to the right so we can make our way to RNRC! She wanted to be in charge of the Fastpasses, so when the rope dropped, we walked at a brisk pace (of course they don’t let us run) to Rock N Rollercoaster. Teresa branched off to get us Fastpasses since we wanted to ride it as much as possible and I jumped in line. After walking for a while and not seeing her behind me, I stopped and found out that the machines were reading FPs backwards! After trying to figure out which direction to put the tickets in, she caught up with me and we were in the second group to ride RNRC for the day.

RNRC is the only ride where I have a problem asking to ride in the front. It’s the only place I’ve ever gotten the answer “no.” Now I understand I’m not more important than anyone else, but if I am willing to wait longer for the front row, I don’t see why I should ever hear the word, “no.” Luckily, this time, they said to go right on in! The ride was so exhilarating! Teresa was having so much fun singing along to the music! She was a bit upset at the length of the ride, because she didn’t want it to end, but it was still incredibly fun!

Now it was time to run over to Tower of Terror. Teresa did not expect there to be so much story involved. She was thrilled at the detail! We asked if we could be in the front row again, which was gladly obliged, and we found that now all seats are “suicide seats.” They’ve changed the elevators yet again! There used to be bars, but now they’re all seatbelts with nothing to hold onto. I was truly disappointed because I miss there only being one suicide seat in the middle. When the elevator moved forward it freaked out Teresa (since she didn’t expect it) – she was under the impression it would just be up and then straight down… Since each ride is random, I made the mistake of telling Teresa about the time the ghosts appeared and were again struck by lightening, sending you flying back up and down once more. (the trick ending)…she was expecting it, but it never happened. This was the only thing that disappointed her about this very thrilling and well-themed ride.

We went back to RNRC, but didn’t need to use our fastpasses. After the ride was over, we headed over to the Great Movie Ride. I saw a CM I used to work with at Star Tours (Ingmar). We chatted a bit and then Teresa and I boarded the ride. It didn’t even move before it broke down. It was king of funny, but then it got annoying that we were wasting so much time waiting. Eventually the ride started moving without all the audio (except the tour guide’s spiel). Then the ride broke down again in the Mary Poppins room. We had to wait for a manager before we finally got going. At that point it didn’t really matter much, because it killed a bit of the experience. I used to love this ride, but it has gone downhill…

We headed over to Star Tours where I saw the CM who trained me, Rich! I was so excited, because I didn’t think anyone would still be there! We talked for a while and he sent us down the VIP entrance (YAY ME!) Teresa was excited to have VIP Status for the time being, which also eliminated the need for FPs. Hooray! When we got on the ride, Teresa started to feel Déjà vu. She then remembered she had ridden this at Disneyland Paris in 1999. I thought it was going to be a brand new experience, so I pouted like a baby for no reason at the end. ;)

Now it was time for MuppetVision 4-D. I have always loved this show! From the hilarious pre-show to Miss Piggy’s head coming off, how can you not love it! Teresa thought it was extremely cute. (she enjoyed the bubbles)…When we got to the gift shop she was upset that we don’t have this much Muppet plush here in NYC… Anyway, we were hungry so it felt like the appropriate time for lunch. We went to ABC Commissary and grabbed our food to eat on the way to Lights, Moteur, action… We realized that they let people in with food, so we didn’t have to scarf down our food as quickly as we did. There were plenty of seats available so we managed to get a pretty good view of the show. It was okay…Not better than Indiana Jones, but I’m glad I saw it at least once.

After the show, we ran through the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playset! We took pictures and it was fun to feel like a little person. We felt like a change of pace from all the action from the last show, so we went over to One Man’s Dream. (We saw the cool Narnia sign that actually shot out snow…It was nice) Teresa loved learning more about Walt’s life. She thoroughly enjoyed the whole attraction, but I was too busy trying to get the burning out of my eyes…you see the sunscreen and my sweat from the heat ended up dripping in my eyes at some point and it caused intense pain. Finally at the end of the actual film I ran to the washroom to rinse it out. It didn’t work so well, so I had to deal with it.

We went over to the Animation Tour only to find out that she just roped the last group off and we would have to wait another 15 minutes to go in. We figured we would do something else with our time and we’d come back later. On our way back down Mickey Ave. we stopped off to get our pictures taken with Sorcerer Mickey! Since Teresa had never seen him in this getup before, she had the cutest smile on her face! After we met the Mouse, we walked to the Streets of America to find Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable. I read the card wrong, because they wouldn’t be out for another hour. We decided to do some shopping instead. On our way to Tattoine Traders, we noticed Chewbacca doing a meet & greet and rushed to meet him! And greet him… Unfortunately, they cut the line off soon after and said he wouldn’t be back for another half hour…so we went into Tattoine Traders to get some Star Wars merch with my yummy 35% discount! I got Ani’s Light Saber that changes color and Teresa got the little green Yoda saber. It was cute! She also got a Darth Tater shirt where he looks at a French fry and says “I am your father.” We had it all sent to our room and went back to meet Chewy! It was great! (We also met Shak Ti and her assistant, which was kind of cool). We finally got to meet Kim & Ron afterwards. Kim didn’t look so much like Kim..but Ron was the spitting image! He kept stressing the importance and benefits of air conditioning, which kept us laughing for a while. (He obviously is not a fan of the heat…even though they’re from California). Kim didn’t really say much, but we got to take an exciting super crimefighting pose picture!! YAH!

We then headed over to Al’s Toy Barn to meet the Toy Story characters. We got in line to meet Jessie since hers was the shortest. After Teresa took our picture the camera died… It was sad for Teresa to meet Jessie with no picture, so we bought a new camera and got back in line…this time we got Woody first (no jokes, please) and then BUZZ LIGHTYEAR!!! I love this guy!  We took another picture with Jessie and she totally remembered us which always makes the experience more magical. We saw the green army men, but we had to split before we could get pictures with them. We headed back to the “Animation Tour..” (yes we all know there’s no studio in there anymore) and once again JUST missed the last group.

Again, not wanting to waste 15 minutes waiting, we walked over to the Voyage of the Little Mermaid. We were hot and our feet were tired, so this was perfect. We made it JUST IN TIME for the show and we got to sit very close to the front. Teresa wanted to know how they would fit a whole movie into 17 minutes, just as we were sprayed by water (which was a pleasant surprise). She loved the show… “It was kinda clever, yet kinda half-hearted…but it was good.” She said. I always get annoyed that Ariel is always a terrible singer at this show…but this time was the first time she was ever actually good! I felt very satisfied!

TIME FOR SHOPPING! We went to Sunset Blvd. and walked into the Villains Store. It was kind of funny because Teresa saw a Cast Member from the World of Disney that she works with. Her name’s Melissa (or as I like to call her, Big V, but that’s a whole other story). Teresa works with a bunch of Villains and Nightmare fans, so it really wasn’t such a surprise. After shopping a bit, we got hungry (forgetting we had ressies at 50s in an hour or so). I told Teresa she should come with me to Take 5 (which is the Cast Member eating area). We’re both Cast Members and food is a lot cheaper there, so I pulled her in. She was scared that we were going to get in trouble, but since we are both technically Cast Members I figured everything would be fine..which it was. However, the food didn’t look so good…for some reason I remember it being a lot better…so we got a bunch of Powerades for hydration (plus it was a fraction of the prices they are on stage) and got out by sunset Blvd again. We decided to go to Rosie’s All American Café and get chicken strips (which I was never a big fan of) and Teresa got a burger… but I realized we had reservation soon and I didn’t want to ruin my appetite so I shoved all the food into my refillable mug from AKL. (this was not the smartest move I’ve ever made).

We headed to RNRC one more time and still didn’t need those Fastpasses…it was a walk-on all day!! How pleasant! After the ride, we realized we had to RUN to catch the parade. We got down by the ABC Soundstage and watched the parade go by. We both enjoyed it and Teresa was happy to see Jojo and Goliath again…it’s been a while since they were in NYC. When the parade ended we went to observe our ADRs at 50s Prime Time Café. We were waited on by Cousin Laura. She let us charge the camera battery so we could have juice for Fantasmic! While we were eating I kept throwing my veggies on Teresa’s plate so I wouldn’t have to eat all of them…I was getting kinda full! Teresa told on me and then she got in trouble for tattle-tailing! It was awesome. We got to look at the desserts in this cool little viewfinder and I came upon something that looked EXTRA SCRUMTIOUS!! It was Dad’s Sundae (or something)…We shared one and lemme tell you..it was YUMMY! Oh yeah, and there was also this kid named “Stinky” who was causing trouble at his table and a woman who looked like she would be Teresa’s boyfriend’s mom. Hehe, anyway…

After our delicious meal, we headed over to Hollywood Blvd to do more shopping. (of course Teresa has also been obsessing over her pressed coins this whole trip and today was no exception)…. I created a monster out of a joke! Hehe. So we went down to the RNRC gift shop to get a few suvies…but there wasn’t anything too amazing there. In the ToT gift shop, however, we couldn’t stop buying the neat merch there! We got a Call Bell so Teresa’s mom can ring it when she wants her family to do something. ;) Now it was time to get to Fantasmic! It was an hour early, but that’s when I always go. We secured our seats in the Mickey section and talked about the days events. Some high school kid in the audience kept trying to start the wave by himself. His friends eventually joined in…I started to get irritated because I hate people who try to start a wave…as many people there also agreed… This went on for about 15 minutes until the entire audience started doing the wave. Then the kids just started screaming about nothing. It was really getting on my last nerve when he threw in some bad language so I opened up my trusty Mara Mug (holding my food from earlier) and threw a French fry at him… He finally stopped. Then some older (definitely drunk) guy started dancing for no reason…He was really funny so we all started cheering for him! What a pre-show!

The show finally began and of course, it was awesome! The digital camera Teresa had couldn’t zoom in far enough, so a lot of the pictures looked like little blurs. That was kind of annoying, but the show itself is just a spectacle needed to be seen by all! I like the blacklight monkeys and the Princess Cruises and Teresa loved the snake and the dragon! 

After the show, we rushed to catch the bus back to AKL. We decided it wastime to go shopping at Zawadi. We spent a LOT of money there, but it was really cool. Teresa bought some suvies for her sister, Bodee (especially this cute little drum and string instrument). There were so many cool things here (but a lot of them seemed to breakable). We knew we’d have to come back later for more.

We had our nightly dinner at Mara again and refilled our mugs. We ended up missing our favorite Disney shows tonight, because we got back later than usual, but that’s okay. After we finished our food, we jumped into bed, extremely excited about our next day at EPCOT!! I’ve been waiting to finally ride Soarin’ for a long long time…but for now…sleep.

(P.S. at some point we called our mom’s, but I don’t remember when. All I know is that I just got out of one of the rides and wanted to know I was missing her! She missed my birthday this year ‘cos she went to Cancun… My family was having a great BBQ at home, so I was glad they were all happy)
