Does anyone know when the Mr. Everst Ride is supposed to open in 2006? We are going in April and hope it will be open by then.

Speculation is that Expedition Everest will open on April 22, 2006, which is both Earth Day and the anniversary of Animal Kingdom's opening. I imagine there will be some soft openings (previews) if you just happen to get lucky in your timing.

Disney always has "soft" opening for new attractions. Back in 2003 my DS and I were able to ride Mission: Space every evening because of the great info here on these boards. During the day the barricades were up, but later on they made an opening so people could try the ride. Keep reading here and I'm sure when next Spring comes around you will be getting great info about the Everest "soft" opening.
