We are going to the Sept. 30 MNSSHP. DS#1 is going to be a clone trooper from episode III. He wants to sport the corrosponding toy gun. I told him I would have to look into the official policy on this. DS#2 is going to be either Darth Vader or Darth Maul, he is bringing a red lightsabre, I don't expect to have any trouble there as you really don't even notice it when it is not extended and probably won't be 90% of the time.

Please, please spare me your personal opinons regarding your ideas on children playing with toy guns - I'm frankly uninterested in going there, and just looking for hard facts regarding WDW policy.

Thanks!!

I wouldn't think there would be a problem considering we saw brown fake rifles for sale at MK. We saw a bunch of kids on Tom Sawyer Island with these fake rifles. Plus at night there are those light up expanding light saber looking things are for sale. The kids next to us for Spectro were having a little Star Wars battle with those cheap rainbow light up sword things the carts sell.

ETA: My son is going as Sora from Kingdom Hearts. He's bringing his big key thing DH made for him. I sewed his costume.

I believe on the ticket it states that toy weapons are not allowed. I think I would vote "no"...not even sure it would make it past the security check. Maybe someone else knows for sure. Kathy :earsgirl:

Yes. My husband brought this up. We actually bought Jango Fett's guns last year at the Star Tours shop in MGM but, we were already in the park and not entering with the toy guns. I'm still worried that there might be a problem at secuity or something. I guess I will just have to call and ask this weekend, when I have unlimited minutes on my cell (no landline).

Rules from the tickets I bought (I apologize if these were posted already by someone else, my doorbell rang while I was typing this)...

COSTUMES..
Children are encouraged to attend the party in costume.
FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILD AND OTHERS, PLEASE ADHERE TO THE GUIDELINES BELOW.

Halloween costumes should NOT:

-- Obstruct the guest's view or interfere with their ability to board/unload from attractions and/or the Walt Disney World Resort transporation system (including monorails, ferry boats and motorcoaches).

-- Drag on the ground

--Contains sharp or pointed objects or material that may accidentally strike another guest.

-- Be offensive to other guests

-- Contain any weapons which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.

We are going on 9/30 and my DS (4) will also be Darth VAdar. We are bringing a small light saber for him. See you there!

Aww...my little Darth Vader or Darth Maul or whatever is 4 too. He is SUCH a Starwars Fan. I am going to discouraging the gun idea but, if my son (and his dad) really beg maybe we can print "TOY!" on the sides or something so we comply with the rules.

disneysnowflake - Thank you for posting the rules. Our tickets are "Will Call". They really ought to mail someting out or email guidelines if you choose the will call option.
