Cast of Characters: me--31; dh--34; dd--6; ds--4
Dates of Travel: June 2nd thru June 9th
Hotel: Sheraton's Vistana Villages
June 6th
This day was specifically designated as a Magic Kingdom Day. We were there on Tuesday the 4th but today was different--we were finally going to see what all the hoopla was about--we were going to have breakfast with Cinderella!!
We (okay I) woke up early and quickly got myself and the kids dressed. Since we were having breakfast with Cinderella, I put my dd in her monogrammed Cinderella T-shirt. It has her name at the top and a picture of Cinderella in the middle and at the bottom it says "is a true princess". Not to be outdone my son had on his monogrammed Woody t-shirt.
DH was a little slow to get up and after I nudged him along reminding him that we had to be there at 9:00am, he finally got on up and got dressed. We jumped in the van and headed for the TTC.
We finally got on the monorail (there were a lot of people in line) and for some reason it seemed to take longer than usual. Anyway we lined up for security and finally entered the park at 9:18 am exactly (of all the days to be late for something I thought to myself). We did a fast trot down Main Street (no photo today) and when we made it to the castle, I was nearly out of breath. We checked in and we lined up to take pictures with the Fairy Godmother. In less than five minutes, our table was ready.
On our visit to the castle we saw Belle, Snow White (more about her in a second), Sleeping Beauty, Mary Poppins, and of course Cinderella. The interaction with the characters was very good and my dd loved the fact that everyone knew her name. The French toast turnover thingie was delicious! We asked for seconds on that. My dd was too excited to eat and my ds asked for cereal--was surprised to hear that they even offered that.
Back to Snow White--when my ds saw her come to the table, he immediately puts his hands over his cheeks. When she asked him why, my dh explained to her that he wasn't too crazy about being kissed by Snow White yesterday at Epcot. Without missing a beat, she apologized for kissing him on yesterday. He accepted her apology.
He was very receptive towards Cinderella and gave her a big hug. After breakfast, we took pictures with The FG. My dh then walks up to her and asks her to "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo" Shaquille O'Neal and the Lakers so that they wouldn't win their next basketball game. She got a big kick out of that one.
So it was now 10:30 and we had full tummies and plenty of energy. We were prepared to "do everything!!" We spent the rest of the day doing the following:
Morning:
Carousel, Haunted Mansion (loved this ride), It's a Small World, and Peter Pan (fastpass), mid morning snack at Pinnochio's, Buzz Lightyear (fastpass).
Afternoon:
Aladdin, Jungle Cruise, Enchanted Tiki Room, Pirates of the Carribean, saw the parade again, Country Bear Show, lunch at Pecos Bill's, Splash Mountain (fastpass), and Hall of Presidents. We also bought matching t-shirts at Heritage House and Christmas ornaments at the Christmas store.
Evening:
Big Thunder Mtn (twice for me and dd because dh and ds didn't want to ride and we used their fastpasses) and Dumbo. As soon as we got off of Dumbo the rain came down fast and furious. We all had rain slickers with hoods so we were fine. We headed towards the exit and they even let us ride the Resort Monorail because it was so crowded with everyone trying to leave at once. On the drive "home", we talked about everything we did/saw. We had a full day and got a lot accomplished.
Next up, MGM
