MSEP and Dessert Party - Can it be done?

I goofed while planning our January 2015 trip, so now I'm trying to see if I can fix a mistake. Here are the facts:

Only 1 MSEP during our stay. It is at 8pm. This is a Must Do for the kids.

Wishes is at 9pm and I made reservations for the dessert party.

We will be at MK another day, but no MSEP that day and I made BOG ressies for 6:20 and there's no availability for any other time, so it's not looking like I can change it, though I will continue to try. BOG is a Must Do for the adults. I think it's impossible to have 6:20 reservations and make it in time for the dessert party. That's WAY too much food in such a short amount of time.

All this leads me to ask this question: Is it doable for us to find a seat to watch MSEP near Tomorrowland Terrace then scurry up there for the dessert party? I don't know if there's a cut-off time where they won't let you in past that time. We went to the dessert party on our last visit and really enjoyed it and it's a Must Do for the kids, too.

You will miss the first 3rd of the Dessert Party (20 min.) if you watch all of the parade.
(You can send one person to the Dessert Party to check-in, then that person can return to
parade-watch.)

You need to arrive plenty early (60-120 min.?) to secure a parade-watching spot not too far from Tomorrowland Terrace on the east side of Main Street.
