MS systems down

I am NOT a happy camper. I'm in the middle of making day by day reservations for next March. Actually, I just need one last day at AKV in a studio but it's concierge so they go fast! I got through right at 9 am but the MS systems are down. They can't do the reservation for me and it may be an hour or more before the system is back online.

GRRRRR.
 
Yep, same here Day by day for Thanksgiving Weekend. I bet is sucks to be a MS agent today!
 
I just called back anyway to check and now they're answering the phone with "Hello, this is so and so. Our systems are down and we anticipate they will be back up after 10 am."

The gentleman I spoke with this morning said that they are doing a system upgrade. Why couldn't they do this in the "off" hours???:headache:
 
Ok if no one can get thru to book....what is the problem, when computer back on line ....call and make reservation so it is an hour later :confused3

They don't know exactly WHEN the system will be back up. Considering the concierge rooms are gone within 2 minutes of 9 am most mornings, what are the chances of calling right at the exact minute the system is back online?

So... you wouldn't care at all if you were trying to book one of about 10 rooms that are concierge at AKV but you weren't sure when exactly you could call to try to book one of those rooms because MS can't tell you? You wouldn't care if you didn't get it and that would mean having to move during your stay? Yeah, right.

Didn't get it. Waitlisted. All of concierge was gone when I called at 9:55 am and got put on a 3 minute wait time to get through. I asked the CM when the systems actually had come back up and she said 10 minutes after they opened. I doubt that since I'd called at 9:15 am and they were still down then.


This is SO irritating when I got through at 9 am and would have had a much better shot at getting my room if it hadn't been for the system upgrade.
 
And this is the very reason I think the whole CL at AKV was a HUGE HUGE error on DVC's part.

Sorry, but when they had 10 rooms they were just building up to a bunch of disgruntled members. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING????
 
I'm sorry you didn't get the concierge villa you were hoping for. I sure wish they had more of them available. Perhaps since it's proving so popular, they will have concierge villas at Kingdom Tower too. It would've stressed me out if that had happened during my day by day booking too. I am glad they do give us the concierge option though. I realize it may be harder and harder to book going forward (as more folks join DVC at AKV), but it's nice to have that option available. We're scheduled to stay concierge this December, and we are really looking forward to it. I hope your waitlist comes through! Maybe it will since there's a chance someone else also has all but one day booked and will drop it so they don't have to move villas.
 
And I was stressed this morning, too. I continued to call every few minutes after 9am just to be sure and on my 3rd attempt I got through and got what I wanted. I think the clock on my computer said 9:08.

I'm sorry for those of you that got messed up by all this. :sad2:

I had to be somewhere by 9:30 so I was only going to try to call until 9:15 and then it would have had to wait until now (almost 11). There would have been no way I would have gotten what I wanted if I had to wait until now.

I wouldn't be nearly as irritated if the system had been available at 9 am and I didn't get the concierge room then when I got through. I'd have been on an equal basis with everyone else trying to book concierge at the same moment. Not knowing WHEN the system would be back up and starting to take reservations again is my gripe. They said it would be after 10 am and, of course, they opened it sooner.

See, I DID call at 9:15 am and the CM who answered then said the system would be down until 10 am! Was it really already open? Now I'm even more angry.

The first time I called (right at 9:00) I was told the system was upgraded and to call 'later'. I asked, "Well, how much later? Can you give me a time?" She said, "They didn't tell us, but usually it is a few hours". :scared1:

Well, as I said. I had to be somewhere at 9:30 so I was starting to panic. I called back again...perhaps 2 minutes after I hung up originally, and was told to call back after 10. Then, I called back a few more mintues after hang-up and got through. Honestly, it could not have been 9:15. My clock on my computer may be off by a few minutes but it did say 9:08 at the start of the first call.

I hope your waitlist comes through. :goodvibes
