MS helped me re-assign my points.

I got a surprise today when younger DS mentioned that he and his bride would like to join us in HHI for a few days next summer! I had used all '11 HHI points for this years WDW trips. Even with borrowing from '13 I didn't have enough to book what I needed for next year, '12. I asked here about paying for the Saturday with cash, but then you have to wait until 11 months from the check in day with points to continue the reservations, and I don't know how busy the 4th of July week is.

So, now I'm set to book our vacation tomorrow. Thank you, CM, Charlotte, who did a great job this morning. We found all 142 '11 HHI points and then banked them for me.

I think this is so important. When I receive great customer service on the phone, I always leave a message on the phone with what the CM did and how it made my day. I want to make sure they retain the qualified, helpful ones or use them to train the new ones.

Sorry - but I don't understand how you got the points. Did she switch out the HH points for one of your other contracts? Just curious. We only own at SSR, but I would like to add on at another resort in the future.

I have an HHI contract that had '11 points, but we weren't going to HHI this year, so I used all of those points at 7 months between 2 reservations. Some were used for a treehouse in October, and the rest were used to book in Kidani in January '12. So, I borrowed from other resorts from my '12 UY to substitute for those HHI points. They didn't have to cancel anything since both of those reservations were made at 7 months, they were not booked with home resort advantage. So, then, my 142 HHI March UY 2011 points were back in my account to bank which I did. Now, in my March 2012 HHI contract I have 284 points and I can borrow from 2013 since our other DS said that they would like to join us. Had they not wanted to come, I would have had enough in 2012 and 2013 without having to use the "11 HHI points.

It is a wonderful surprise that they will come. Like lots of you, I plan and plan, and in my wildest dreams, just didn't plan for them to join us!

That's great news for you! I plan to also ask for a reallocation since my waitlist did come through and I can now cancel a two-night reservation I had made within 7 months using the rest of my banked points. They should be able to now use those banked points for the "waitlist" reservation that came through within 7 months. That way, I will probably end up losing 2 points rather than 9 points that were banked.
