MS didn't know what IllumiNations was?!?

I say thank god for the internet and books....that sign on the Doctors wall could have been about me. I can't tell you how many times if I had listened to that sign on the wall that I would be dead. I can't speak for all doctors or CM's but if you don't do your own research and blindly follow their advice you deserve what ever poor care you get. BE INFORMED ITS YOUR MONEY AND YOUR LIFE

You got that right!

Hi Sammy,

I usually just lurk on this site. I miss DVC so much and listening to the DVC Members talk always bring me home again. I used to answer those phones at MS. I have been back to Disney since I left and it just saddens me. I joined Disney through the College program and was so excited to be part of the Mouse. Disney to me was always the "best." My DH is a former CM also and we both noticed things in the park this last time that shouldn't have been there such as some deferred maintenance and more cigarette butts than we ever should have seen. I hate to see the Disney quality going this way. I guess it makes me glad I no longer work for WDW because I'm sure I would be frustrated. I applaud all of you DVC Members for being informed about what you purchased. I can't tell you how many time I spoke to Members who just had no clue what they had purchased. Of course, I always got to speak to them when they were on the brink of losing 200-300 points because they forgot to bank them or to use them. I remember when working for Disney meant you could NEVER answer a question with an "I don't know!" If you didn't know, you found the answer. How sad that it has come to this.

It has changed, but to know that for every "one" bad employee there are hundreds of good ones like you were when you were there.

My point is and sometimes it is not well received. I see both sides the guest and the employee.

Things have changed, and guest demands have changed. Yes an employee should be knowledgeable of their product, but that is not always the fault of the person being given a hard time about it. Sometimes it's a lack of training, sometimes it's a person that is new and and reading what is on her computer, and sometimes its an employee working 2 jobs that can't afford to do anymore than involves her own personal space.

While I agree it would be nice for every employee to be "worldly" I am willing to give them a break.

Unfortunately, customer service, as a whole, in this country has gone down. It's very unfortunate.

I have (although not with WDW) been on both sides of the buyer/seller relationship, and I have no problem with someone no knowing all the answers. But the one thing we train our CS reps to say is "Let me find out." Then they can put the person on hold, ask a co-worker, supervisor, or offer to call the client back.

Lack of accountability in any job is not the answer. That's how it got this way in the first place.

If I recall, for a while, CRO was even located in Tampa. Just because someone works for Disney (even in WDW), doesn't mean they know everything about it. I work with a guy who used to work in WDW. He's always amazed at how much I know. He said that he never realized, when he worked down there, how much some people are into Disney. The realization came to him one night when a fan met him in the CM parking lot offering him up to $100 for his name badge! He thought the person was a nut case! LOL!!

This is why I often laugh when people repeat something they heard from CRO or MS as fact because a WDW CM said so. Many times, the CMs are only repeating the same rumors they hear. I still love the people who argue that the Monorail *is* going to be run through the Swan/Dolphin because the boat captain said so. Thus, there is nothing we could say that would convince them otherwise.
