Several questions/observations. First, I am assuming that it is okay to make PS through WDW Dining. I tried to call MS shortly after 9 am. I got through the menu and the phone rang...and rang...a total of 44 times before someone picked up. This is not the first time this has happened. I figured if they were busy I would get music and a recording about my wait time.
Anyhow, I finally get someone and I tell her I want to make my PS reservation and I go through all the personal information then says that I can't make my reservation until Feb 2nd?! I wasn't about to argue but it bothered me. After looking at my countdown timer for the hundreth time and even counting using my calendar I thought I'd just call WDW Dining. I got through almost immediately and made my reservation. I hope this is okay...she gave me a confirmation number.

Does anyone else have problems getting through to MS then having the phone ring forever? I only counted the rings this time because it has happened more times than not.

Should I just use the WDW Dining to make the rest of my PS reservations the rest of the week? Is there any advantage to using MS to make PS reservations? Sorry about all the questions but DVC and MS is still new to me.

I personally, would call WDW dining, I don't believe there is any advantage for us to call MS to do it. And Mon is one of the busiest (if not THE busiest) day of the week at MS.

Monday mornings are the busiest time to call Member Services. Since the 11 month booking window puts you at December 30 at this point, you see the phone lines must be swamped with folks booking the week after Christmas, and New Year's vacation for 2005.

I have good luck calling mid-week, though. :)

I understand that Mondays are MS's busiest days BUT don't they have a phone cue once you push 3 for reservations? If they are that busy they should have Disney music and a recording about an appoximate wait time. I didn't get any of that. It was like someone left their desk without shutting off their phone, and someone nearby answered it. I guess I'm wondering if I need to expect this every time I call, and maybe this would help others who wouldn't give 45 rings before someone picks up the phone. Just let it keep ringing huh? :confused3

Earlier this month, I was making our ressies for December, 2005 and the same thing happened to me every day. The phone would just ring and ring, I know that I counted at least 30 rings and I did not get a message or music. I, too was wondering what the heck was going on.

Okay, so it wasn't just me. Thanks Patty3! Maybe they're not aware of it and it's some malfunction with their phone system. :confused3 Perhaps the next time I call them and it happens I'll politely mention it to them. Thanks!

I experienced that also when I did my day by day reservations for BWV about a month ago. My guess is it keeps ringing when the hold queue is full. It's better than getting constant busy signals.

I also had the same experience when I called for my early Dec. 2005 ressies for BWV. I never got a busy signal just the ringing.

Also I have found it is easier for me to make all my Dining PSs thru WDW Dining. They open earlier and close later and it is just easier to get thru except between 7:00-7:30am when the CRT rush is taking place.

OMG, thank you kaseyC! I can't believe that I forgot that WDW Dining is open earlier and later than MS!! I guess I've been in DVC mode too long! I'll defintely use WDW Dining for my PS reservations from now on. Thanks everyone!! :wave2:

this is th ereason why DVC needs the internet...........to me it is nuts that they dont do it ASAP....it will save time and money

They have been working on it for some time. It's not as easy as it sounds. You have people with multiple contracts, multiple use years, borrowing, banking, etc. More complicated than your standard reservation system.

I always use wdw-dine to make my PS's. It's easier than having to give your member #, etc.

reason why we use MS for PS is that from the uk its a freephone number to call dinning costs us money which we could use on the food
