How is the Sea Watch? It is reasonably priced and we are looking to go in April. I am tired of reading through Trip Advisor :)

Sea watch hands down! We have stayed there many times :) try to get the North tower.

We really enjoyed sea watch. It is not the most modern and luxurious place, but it right on the water with great amenities and the staff is very friendly.

There are individually owned units you can get on VRBO as well.

And any other must need to know info about Myrtle Beach? Thanks!

What kind of info are you looking for. I live in Myrtle beach. I can't tell you about hotels because I have never stayed in one but maybe I can help with other things.

We stayed at the Ocean Reef Resort a couple of years ago. It has standard room & other suites as well. Its right on the beach with beach front balcony views as well. We found it to be a friendly, clean & close to everything resort. The prices are not to bad neither to be directly on the beach. I think they are also offering a spring deal right now.

Thanks! Any must eat restaurants? Good quality food but not super fancy (we have 2 kids). Mexican? NY style pizza? Good breakfast place? Something unique to the area? We like all kinds of food :) no buffets though.

If BBQ is your thing, look up Little Pigs. Don't be alarmed by the exterior - it's some great BBQ.

Sea Captains House is often recommended. I know the She Crab Soup is very good. For the most part, I feel it is overpriced for the quality if food/service.

My husband loves bbq! That looks great!

We've stayed at Dunes Village as well and were happy with it:). The Sew Captain's House has the best hushpuppies ever!;)

what about weather? we can't decide if we should go in april, may or june. I like it on the warmer side so i'm thinking june. dh thinks it may be TO hot (we live in Canada, theres no such thing). i'm not sure about may because you have all the motorcycle things and I don't want to get into a gillion bikers. as for april, i'm thinking it may be to cool still.
thoughts???

If you can go in May between the two bike weeks, that's good time. One ends Mother's Day weekend, and the other starts the next weekend. Come in Sunday afternoon and leave by Fri morning. The ocean water's still too cold for me at that time to swim, but the pool may be OK if it's not been rainy. I don't know if any places heat the pools or not.

If you do June, I'd do the first week. Any later and you ahve kids coming for graduation weekend, then the families start, and bad, bad crowds.

Spring is less expensive. If you can go anytime you want I would think May would be the best. I am trying not to worry about the April weather, we know we won't be swimming in the ocean, that is for sure! Good luck w your decision! We just booked the Sea Watch through VRBO so our 4 or 5 day trip just turned into a week :)

Is there an organic grocery store or a store w a good organic or natural food section in the Myrtle beach area?

thanks for your replies. i really am thinking the first week of june. i'm worried a bit about getting in between the bikers weeks as there is probably some overlap.
when you say spring is less expensive do you mean accommodation wise? my friend owns a condo on one of the golf courses, myertlewood i believe its called, so she is renting to us for a really good price and its any week we want so i'm not worried about that. also, we had some relatives who went for the first time last may and it rained for most of the week they were there and that worries me.
soooo hard to decide. would love to hear anything else you can think of.

Sea Captains house is really good but it can me on the more expensive side not too bad though. Mexican would have to be Abuelos. I am from N.Y. and NJ I can not recommend pizza here. If you want pizza there is a restaurant across from Broadway at the beach called the Mellow Mushroom it has gourmet pizza. If you have never been is a lot of fun but get there early because they always have a line. Breakfast places are all over. There are so many pancake houses I couldn't even begin to pick one. I am drawing a blank right now I will post back when I think of something more helpful. Or you can pm if you have any questions. I wanted to get back to you so you didn't think I forgot.

The first bike week is not do bad. They usually stay closer to Murrels Inlet where the biker bars are and aside from the from the fact that their bikes are louder (Harley's)it is not too bad. The second one that usually falls on Memorial day weekend is the worst of the two. They are in North Myrtle beach and they travel up and down the main corridor between North Myrtle and Murrels Inlet. There is never an overlap between the 2. If you are going to come in June Come the first week to avoid the largest crowds. Southern schools let or at least 2 weeks before Northern schools. The crowds will stay building in early June. The worst month for crowds is July.

Dino's is most famous for breakfast at NMB. Expect huge lines. Never ate there but heard it is great.
