A few schools in my area have been infected.
And I've marched on the same fields with people from those schools.

I heard that MRSA killed more people in 2005 than HIV

Ok, weird I saw this thread and couple days ago and now my school is INFECTED with it. We may not have school for awhile so they can scrub the place. I will give you the 411 since nobody else has.

ok, if you have boils, cuts, abcesses, or any open wound here are some warning signs to look for when deciding whether a wound requires medical attention:
- longer than normal healing time of the wound
- increase in the size of the wound
- unexplained or unusual pain or sensitivity to the wound
- sensation of heat in the wound
- resd streaks around the lesion
- abnormal coloration of the wound.
To prevent the spread of MRSA
-wash hands often
-wash towels, uniforms, and other laundry in hot water and ordinary detergent, and dry on the hottest cycle
- Don't share towels, razors, soaps, and other personal items (athletic equipment, etc.) and toiletries
-Clean and cover all wounds.

I dont know why they dont just close the schools and throughly clean them.

its going around northen new jersey too. there was a rumor that one of our teachers had it but it wasn't true. i was kinda hoping it was, not so the teacher would be sick, but so this way they would of had to disenfect the school. we've had lots of altheltic games cancelled because schools we play have it...

two girls at my school have it. what some people dont realize is that for most people, mrsa isnt that bad. only for some it is life threatening.

I heard that two or three people in my school district got MRSA, we got a letter sent home last week.
