This is a potentially fatal sickness you can contract, especially if you play sports. Its going around the NYC/Long Island area, where I live, and now i just find out its in my school.

A kid in the city died from this 2 weeks ago, I just hope this stops soon.

Yeah we have that going on here (I live on Long Island). No one at our school has it yet. And hopefully it will stay that way.
Just wash your hands a lot....but it is scary.
It's funny that I saw this thread today because we had an announcement at school about it! (Well not funny but you know what I mean)

I know someone who had that and lived. The kid up the street from me and did. He was in the hospital for a really long time though.

It's like a type of Staph that they haven't found a cure yet for. In all locker rooms at my school we have white boards and the school made our ath. trainer put up like this for page print out about staph on the whit boards it's crazy. We had a problem with it last year but not so much this year. they were like you guys need to read that. i was like umm no thanks. i just read the prevention techniques... lol

We got a notice that it's in the public schools...They aren't going to let anyone from the affected schools into ours so nothing will spread.
We still are required to bring in Purell.

Yeah...it's in my school. One boy has it and if two more people get it, they're sanitizing the entire school for a week!

Pretty much everyone carries hand sanitizer around with them and bandaids. I look really funny because I have like a gazillion bandaids on my hands covering papercuts. But hey, better safe than sorry right?

Yeah, it's basically all over North America.

There's almost as much Purell as the time my school had Hepatitis A going around...
