I read that you can get an all-you-can-fit-in-a-box Mr. Potato Head at Engine Ears Toys. Has anyone done this? If so, how much does it cost?

Thanks!

I just did this a couple weeks ago and it was $18 + tax. I was surprised at how much I managed to cram (I mean gently fit) into that box. The CM there gave me a good hint that helped a lot. You only have to be able to close one side of the lid. A lot of the larger/taller items stuck out that one open side. ;)

Yes they do. Also at the Gag Factory shop in ToonTown in DL. I personally saw that they had a much smaller selection than at the DCA store, but others disagree (might have to do with where you go first and what you are looking for).

I have in my notes, where I'm trying to figure out if a Premium AP's discounts would be worth it, that I would have gotten 1.80 discount with the 10% premium, so that makes me think the cost was $18.

Remember, it's better to get the actual head elsewhere, b/c they are cheap and take up space in the box. You can just pack the box with parts that way, and you can even ask the CMs for help! Be sure to get left AND right arms in equal amounts; the Disney arms hold Disney things, so you need them.

If you do decide to get the head (we did), fill the head before putting it in the box! If there are little things that can go in other things, do that. For instance, we got a Disneyland ticket, and that goes in the tourist suitcase, and then that went into the head (along with a bunch of other stuff) which went into the box. I got stuck, the CM came over, and she got a bunch more stuff in there that I didn't.

That's probably way more info than you needed!

oh, there's also a big clear potato that is a "case" itself, and you can fill that, too. I think it's twice as much money, but you can also fit probably twice as much stuff inside!

The clear potato head is $45.

Potato heads are a big hit in my family. We have been buying boxes for 3 years now, and this last trip last week we bought 2 boxes! There were that many new parts!

This year they have the Star Wars potato head pieces for darth tater and spud troopers, buzz lightyear, mr. incredible, dumbo ears, pirate parrot tinkerbell shoes and lantern, a guitar, and many other items.

These are so much fun even my 12 year old boy likes playing with them.

Lots of potato head building contests in our house with our three boys.

wow sounds like they have a lot of new parts we will do this this time last time it didnt seem to good

This thread (and a few others) makes me realize how much I missed at DL.

We spent 3 1/2 days there and I can't believe how much more that I have to see on our next trip!

It makes me happy knowing I won't get bored there for quite a while!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

My 3 1/2-year-old *loves* Star Wars! Do you have to buy special character potato heads, or do they have the masks and things for Darth Tater? I'm wondering if the parts they have can just be added to the Potato Heads I have at home or if I have to buy special Star Wars ones.

Thanks again! I'm really looking forward to our trip and seeing how excited my son gets. :)

They'll fit the heads you already have. We have several different size heads here, and all the parts pretty much work on all of them -- even the baby ones. My ds loves the Darth Tater parts I just got for him.

Very cool! Thanks!

Every time we go, we fill a box! Yes, don't get the actual heads. They just fill a lot of space. It's cheaper to get them at Target or whatever ahead of time. That way the whole box can be for all those cool parts!

My son has quite the collection now, and is always playing with them.

the big plastic one is 45dollers? Im thinkign of gettingthat in stead of a box for each of us and branging two or three of his heads from home so he can play with them in hotle.
he started etting potato heads one bday or christmas. then got an easter set, a pirate set spider spud ummm a huge colection i think this would be good to add

Just get a $5 tub from Walmart. That's what I use. I'm getting my third box in a few weeks and I can't wait! I bought an easter bunny head this year, so before I was getting all the "boy" parts and now I can get the girly stuff! Ariel hair and Tinkerbell stuff, here I come!

We didn't get an all you can fit box last yea since we had just bought a new box at home, but we plan to this year. It's a fun thing for the kids and they have some accessories you can't find in the stores at home.
