Mr. Potato Head....

You mean, DL specific items as opposed to WDW? Hmm...trying to remember if I saw any with DL on it. One thing I have to point out is the HOLIDAY items. When we went at Christmas, they had two or three holiday Disney items that you won't find the rest of the year, and I got those in the Gag Factory in ToonTown. They had the Disney X-mas tree with the Mickey-shaped ormanents on it and they had the 'Santa Mickey' ears. The CM who rang me up said that this was the first time they had made holiday items and he suspected they were going to do that for some other holidays as well, because the possibilities are infinite. Can you imagine bunny ears and an easter basket? A valentine heart? A trick or treat bag and a Halloween costume? The Gag Factory has a better selection than what we might think, HOWEVER, the CA Enginears shop has a larger display and not as many people shop in that store as they do in the ToonTown shop, which has a smaller display. But both stores have the same exact items, as the CM told me. It's just that more people are aware of the ToonTown shop so those sell first, and they are crammed into a smaller area so you have to dig harder to find them in the bins.

Thanks, Sherry for your tip about the different stores at DL that sell stuff for Mr Potato Head. :thumbsup2 I'll check them out to see if there's anything we "need" for our guys.

I already have the Christmas tree, Santa Mickey ears and the Mickey pumpkin shaped trick-or-treat bag - I managed to pick those up at WDW back in October 2006 - they are sooo cute aren't they? :cutie:

Actually I have not SEEN the Trick or Treat bag, nor did I know it existed! The CM in the Gag Factory in ToonTown at DL this past December said that 2007 was the first year, and Christmas was the first holiday, that they carried any Potato holiday parts, but he said they had the same pieces in GF as in EnginEars, just one store is busier than the other so they sell out faster. And he said he expected that 2008 would be the year that more holiday pieces would become available. So you are actually filling me in on what the CM didn't seem to know - that WDW is already ahead of the game with the Trick or Treat Bag! I am still trying to recall if I saw anything specifically that said DL on it or was directly related to DL. What rides are exclusive to DL? I can't recall off hand. That might jog my memory as to what pieces I saw that might be Disneyland exclusive.

Well, Matterhorn for one. . . oh, and Indy, right?

I keep forgetting that Indy is exclusive to DL. For some reason, I thought it had been added to one of the four Florida parks but I am probably wrong. I think we also have Roger Rabbit Car Toon Spin exclusively. In any case, I don't think I saw any Potato parts related to Indy or Matterhorn. But those Disney marketing people are so clever that I can't imagine that they woudn't find something to sell that was exclusive to each park. I saw a lot of hats & ears - Goofy hat and ears, Dumbo ears, a top hat to go with the Minnie wedding veil, Sorcerer's hat, Pirate's hat, on and on. So far, it sounds like the same stuff that WDW has.

This is something I am excited about (and my trip isn't till next year :rolleyes1 )....... does anyone have pictures or is there a thread with "who has gotten the most into a box " :)

I'd really love to see peoples bounty :goodvibes

I was AMAZED at what the Disney Cast Member could get into my PH. Here it is after we got home. NO WAY was I going to unpack at WDW, I would never have gotten it back in :goodvibes

Everything meaning everything they have? I highly doubt it, as things like different feet/shoes take up quite a lot of room. Though maybe with that BIG potato head it would be different. On the other hand, with the big potato you'd fill the little one with stuff, then put it inside, so you could still think about getting the normal size head.

When I was in toontown in early December, there were something like 4 or 5 bins. From the amount of looking I could do (with 3 year old trying to take store apart) there didn't seem to be a variety inside the bins, so it didn't appear to me that one could dig for anything different in each bin. Everything in the bins I already had or I had no interest in, so I wasn't going to dig anyway. And nothing obviously holiday-themed when I was there.

For those who want their kids to be interested...hey, if they aren't, just get your own stuff. :) I was getting things I wanted at DCA, spending ages figuring out just what I wanted, and just as I was almost done, DS got interested in it. So I threw a few things in there for him (I have so many pirate eye sets, LOL). Since that trip was in September, we soon saw a Halloween-themed potato head "ghost" on sale at the grocery store, and once it went on clearance we got that, and in that way we had two heads. Then he stole my "pin trading potato head" lanyard, peeled the stickers off, and that is when I put "my" pieces away. :upsidedow

Anyway, if I were to decide to get more, and I really wanted to buy things from toontown, I'd go there first, buy a box, then go to DCA and probably find enough more there to get another box.

But that's just my experience; could be wrong! :):upsidedow

Hi guys! Do they still have the potato head things at the store in DCA? Do the pieces fit a regular potato head?

Awhile back I bought some My Little Pony pieces for dd off ebay- was that a WDW thing or does DL have them too?

TIA

Emilie

Not sure about the My Little Pony, but in November (we go every year for Thanksgiving) the Mr Potato Head stuff was everywhere! There was a shop in Toon Town that had towers of accessories (like the M&M's in Las Vegas) and there was the shop in DCA as well.

Thanks for posting a link to the Mickey Trick-orTreat bag, EMAW! :thumbsup2 That is the one I have - no way I'd sell it on Ebay!
