Do they still have the build a spud stations? I have a list of items that I still need to be gotten... and I haven't heard of any change but I just want to make sure that they are still available

Thanks!
Jill

I finally got the list completed... it has all the items that I am aware of as of August 2008 (when i last went)
If you know of more items just let me know and i can add it to the list

Yes - and they have really expanded the selection from the last time I was there - go in with a budget or a theme or you will be overwhelmed!

They had them when we went last Aug/Sept. DD filled a box! They will help you to fill the box! The nice lady at the store showed us and helped us make sure our box was as full as it could be. They have some adorable things.!!!

google: fill your own disney world

two great articles popped up for me on the mr. potato head and other fill your own souvenirs at WDW. don't want to post link, b/c ill probably get in trouble, but its one of my favorite things to do.

does anyone have a list of the potato head items currently available at the Once Upon a Toy store at DTD?

TIA!

Does anyone know if you must purchase the actual spud or just the supplies? Thanks.

I read you dont have to purchase the spud...in fact one of the tips I saw as to buy the spud at home for cheap, and fill the box with disney specific items. :-) but if you DO get the spud, remember to fill the back of the spud up with items too. its legal.

No you dont have to get a spud. He takes up to much room you can just go to walmart or target and pick up a basic spud with a few basic items for like 5 bucks and just fill up the box with all the items at Disney... but if you are going to do that and have young ones that may want to play with them while you are there dont forget to buy the spud and pack it before you go!

I currently have 3 spud heads all which i bought before our trip ( 1 for my neice to play with 1 for my nephew and 1 for auntie (me)) I keep them at my house so we have something to play with when they come over. They love playing Pirate and Princess Party Potato princess:pirate:

I do have a list of potato head pieces..its hand written so I can type it up and post it some where if people want? Its as up to date as August 2008 (which was the last time I was there) so if theres newer stuff then that people can feel free to add to it... I love the potato head stuff they are great toys that span all ages I love to play with it with my niece and nephew

I would love to have a new list. We were there 2006 and I'm sure they have come out with pieces we need to have.
Thanks for typing it out for us!

A CM told us last year when we were in DTD to buy a potatohead seperately (they sell them for the same price as toy stores at home) and then just use the box to stuff full with pieces. The PPs who said the head takes up a lot of space are sooo right!! Also pack those pieces in tightly and shake them down into place so you can fit even more in the box!! We have had the nicest CMs give us tips on packing the pieces in really well!! :thumbsup2:cool1:

Does any one know how much it currently costs for the box? I need to plan spending money accordingly..

TIA!
Jilla:cool1:

PS I'll have the list typed up and posted by the end of the weekend

This is on our list, too!!

Yes, any tips and price would be great.

We're buying a PH for our son, who will be 3 at Christmas. We're going in early December.

My best tips for Mr.Potato Head:

- stuff the box in layers..put big pieces in and then stuff smaller ones in between them.

- If you are putting the potato in the box, cram as many items into the compartment on the back as possible.

- Also, stuff as many smaller pieces (eyes, noses, mouths, etc) into larger pieces as you can. The shoes and feet and other pieces are hollow and small items can be squished into them.

- don't try to stuff the box(es) with the bigger pieces (like Mary Poppins' umbrella, Buzz's ship, Ariel's tail, Dumbo, etc). They take up too much space. Its best to buy them separately for $2.00 a piece.

- when you're done stuffing the box, there many be a few gaps in the top, so drop extra noses, eyes, mouths and ears into the holes and shake them down. Your little guy will need all those extra basics!

- make sure you get pairs of arms... left and right ones.

heres the link to a spreadsheet I made at the moment it only has the pieces that I am currently missing ( i made a check sheet i guess the last time i went) I will go thru later today and add all the rest

I'm on vacation for the next 3 weeks until the school year starts back up again(faculty reports back august 31 and the students start back sept 3) so I have plenty of time to do all sorts of little things
