MR October 28, 2012 "Halloween Time"

Forgive me, but I don't understand what the big deal is with dining rotation? Can you explain? I was on the Wonder last year, our dining rotation was TAAPTAP.
Is that good? It all seemed the same to me. In fact, I don't even remember anything special with Animator's Palate? What is the special deal with that? Thanks!

No worries. It's near a preference. We love animators and don't care for parrot, so APTAPTA works for us. You get one restaurant three times and the others twice, so we like to get animators three times. If you've been there before and don't know why animators is special then you may have booked your palo that night and missed it, which us why I recommend not to do palo the first three nights of the cruise. Animators starts out black and white. The pictures on the walls, the waitors clothes...everything. As the meal progresses the room comes to life with color. The character images on the walls become colored and the wait staff adds colorful vests, etc to their outfits as they go. By the end of the meal everything is colorful! Kids love it, end so do must adults. However, this only happens on your first animators night. Miss that night and miss the show. Like I said, being in that dining room is just preference. As long as I'm not in parrot the times, I'm good.

Hope that helps!

Lol, sorry for all of the word errors, I'm on my cell phone and not checking the auto correct. Let me know if you can't decode my message!

HAVE I TOLD YOU THAT YOU ARE AMAZING!! I didn't know about the baby services they offer! Mine is now 2, so he isn't much baby and pretty much eats ANYTHING :rotfl: He ate corn on the cobb yesterday for the first time and boy did he LOVE IT!

Last cruise we actually had PTAPTAP and we didn't mind it. Actually I really liked that we had formal night in Tritons, it fit the mood for us. I can't remember what night we had Palo, but we booked it early and joined our table mates later for dessert :cool1: (we did let them know we would be late)

So tonight at 4 am I leave to Mexico so I wanted to see if I could book stuff at midnight. I was able to complete online check in, but it wont let me register the children! It says I have to pay the cruise in full....it IS paid in full. I don't know if you guys remember but we won this vacay from our local radio station. Everything has already been booked and confirmed so I don't know what the issue is...grrrrrrr I want to book stuff before I am on foreign soil with no internet access :(

lol, I try! Sorry that info didn't really pertain to you though. Maybe other parents will be able to use it. I've never ordered fresh made "baby food" before, but I always order like three desserts! Maybe your little one will think that' fun. If they want something not on the menu, just ask for it, they are likely to bring it (dessert or entree). A little girl on our last cruise had chicken, cookies, and mickey head ice cream every night! And that was without any of those things being on the menu!

Also, I was a travel agent due right years. I HIGHLY recommend calling the radio station and asking them what's up. They might very will not have made the final payment!

You're totally right, that's exactly what happened. Thanks!

As for my other post, I called Disney today and just asked to be seated at a table with another single parent with kids my kid's ages. Maybe I'll make a new friend, and they will too.
I'm getting super excited, we're all checked in and excursions are booked. Can't wait!:yay:

How many kids do you have and what are their ages? Disney is great about dining requests. If you have dinner your first night and there are no single parents with kids, you can ask to be changed. If they can move you they will. Are you early or late seating? If you're early maybe we will have the same table :)

We would do a comedy club with you, but we've already scheduled the most amount out time that we want to be away from our little one. Maybe we could do something with the kids though? Take in a movie at the movie theatre or hang out by the pool? I've scheduled a pedicure for our first day at sea. As long we we have the money I'm going to do it. You're welcome to book one at the same time! I did 10:30am on day 2.

Sucks about your friend, but don't worry. One thing about going on disney is that 99% of us love disney, love kids, and love people. That means everyone is really nice, friendly, and personable. You are sure to always be in good company!

Wow, this is a super quiet group. I think I'm the only one really excited and obsessed with the cruise, lol. My last cruise's board was super busy. Oh well.
So my kids are 7 (daughter) and 5 (son).
I'm not sure if I will book a pedicure or not. The last cruise I indulged in a massage, and honestly, it was the best massage I have ever had. I didn't realize that they would have specials throughout the week, and I booked one early. I'm thinking I will wait and see if there are any specials that sound good to me.

I am bummed that I won't be dining at Palo this trip, but there is no way in hell that I will go there alone.

I highly recommend it to anyone reading this! Best $20 I ever spent! :thumbsup2

Anyway, I am so flipping excited! What time do you get to arrive at the port? We have a 11-11:30 check in time.

Is anybody doing anything at Puerto Vallarta? Im kinda interested in the Los Veranos zipline tour but was curious if anybody else was doin it....

I TOTALLY agree! Don't take this wrong anyone, but my husband and I were just saying a couple of days ago how lackluster this board has been. Our last cruise had over 200 pages on our DISboard! And the cruise before that had near 180 pages! I don't know why this board is so small, but not only are there very few of us...but those who are on here aren't really saying anything. Strange. It's the 1st DISboard we've participated in where we haven't made life-long friends and interacted with tons of people even before the cruise. On our last board we met with a solid 2 dozen+ cruisers and hung out before the cruise! lol, in fact, 3 weeks ago we met up with some of our cruise buddies from 2 years ago - and they live 1,000 miles away! I don't know what's up with this board, but it would be cool if it got more active. :thumbsup2

kindsoul73: I'm sorry you won't be going to Palo. :( If we had more money I would totally go with you for a girls night or something, but we can really only afford to go once. With a new baby and a new house we're strapped! :sad1: Who knows, maybe you'll luck out and find someone to go with you. Don't lose hope! Part of the problem though is that you can only book 1 before you board the ship - so if someone was going to go with you they would either need to use their 1 reservation, or wait until you board and book a 2nd night. It could happen though!

Anyway - good luck! :flower3:

No - sorry. :( I'm scared of heights, I get motion sick, and I will have my then 9 month old with me, so ziplining is out on MANY fronts! :rotfl2: My husband's always wanted to do it, but we can't really afford for him to go on this sailing. I don't know which one my mother-in-law has done or in which part, but she ziplined while on a cruise in Mexico and she LOVED it. If you want I can ask her if it was this same one and she if she has any thoughts for you. As far as finding someone to go with you though, sorry, wish I could help!

I was thinking of doing the zip lines maybe in Cabo (on the 2nd day) and leaving the kids in the kids club.

As for Palo, I booked our when I got on board last time, so I know it;s a possibility, but probably not for this cruise.

And, I too, wish people were more active. We also made friends with people from our last cruise and have kept in touch, even met up over the New Years holiday- and they are in Canada!

Iam here I just have been uber busy! with the opening of cars land and getting ready for the Australian travel season I have been just swamped Im literally sneaking this in on company time. There is 3 cabins of us and we are having a meeting regarding adding to the fish extender exchange. Last year I headed up the exchange but just dont have time this year!

We have Palo booked 6 different times between the 10 of us! They are gonna roll me off the ship!

If anyone has questions please ask! PM or public I have nothing to hide LOL

Is anybody dressing up for halloween? Coz i see that pirate night is different.

My kids will definitely dress up both nights, and I have my pirate costume from last year (hope it still fits!).
Not sure if I will dress up for Halloween or not.

Cool! Glad you piped up! Do you work at DL?

Wow - 10 times?!? Do you have special access or something since you're a cast member? Last year a few of us tried doing that but it wouldn't let us, only 1 per name prior to sailing, whether you were with different people or not. We even booked the private dining room for brunch at Palo, and they made us all use our 1 brunch ressie for that! Must be nice being a cast member! :cheer2:

We are going to dress up our little girl, but I don't think we're dressing up (no money for good costumes). LOL, but if we get the money I'm TOTALLY going to make Ryan dress up as Super Grover 2.0! :rotfl2::rotfl:

That's awesome! One of the couples we became friends with were just like us. They were about the same age, married the same amount of time, tried having kids the same amount of time, and were told they couldn't have kids for the same reasons as us. THEN, 4 months after our cruise we found out we were both pregnant...and only 3 weeks apart from one another! In the end our stories wound up a LOT different, but she's now a great friend. There are 4 of us families who meet pretty regularly, and I'm sure we'll go on vacation together again!

It looks like we're getting a prem"ear" at sea: Wreck It Ralph on Nov. 2!

We're very excited for this cruise - but because we aren't doing excursions, I think we have less stress about it. :)

We're also driving to the port - so no stress with flights (yay!). :thumbsup2

That would be AWESOME! My husband REALLY wants to see that movie so he's going to be stoked!

We're the same way - no excursions and we're driving so it's a lot less stressful. We are trying to decide if it's worth it to take a car or shuttle to the pier, but we don't know yet. We drove last time and it was a DISASTER! lol, it was our fault. We were thinking a car might be nice, but the more I think about it, the trip will probably be more comfortable for the baby in her own surroundings and car than it would be for her in a town car. We'll probably just take our car and park. We also need to decide if we're going to go to Disneyland before, after, or not at all. Or - maybe we'll go to the Aquarium of the Pacific the day before and spend the night in the area. Hmph. Things to think about! May I ask where you're coming from? We are in San Jacinto (Riverside county, I think). I'd say we're about 2 hours away.

It's settled! We are driving to the cruise the morning of. Then, when we return we will spend the day at aquarium of the pacific. After that we will stay the night near disneyland and go to DL the day after the cruise! Ryans birthday is that day so it's perfect!
