Cmon lets hear it! Who is getting excited for our Cruise?

We are counting down the days!

I have a fun idea! For those that HAVE sailed Disney before what is your "sail away ritual?"

And those that are NEW what do you plan on doing at Sailaway? Watch from a distance or Dance on Deck 9?

I spent a few hours lurking for information on the Wonder. We are set to sail the week of October 28th, 2012.:hyper:

It is not our first cruise, but it is our FIRST DISNEY CRUISE.

First question, will there be a Halloween party, something similar to Mickey’s at DLand? Do children dress in costume? Are adults encouraged to dress too? I hope it is a yes since we already have our costumes.

Will there be a pirate night event if there is a Halloween party? I am concerned since we have separate costumes for this occasion as well.

Is there a Princess Tea Party? How do we register? Is there a minimum age and do parents attend this event with the child?

Are the girls encouraged to dress in Princess Dresses?

I believe I read somewhere that there is a bed time story / slumber party with charters… any details is appreciated.

We plan on caring on wine for our dinners, are there any limits on the amount of bottles that we can bring on board?

Anyone else getting gussied up for formal night? Semi- Formal?

All travel tips are welcomed!!!

Thank You!!

Well I have some discouraging news. I got about 3/4 of the way finished with the Fish Extender this weekend and came to realize I am almost doubled the size that is should be wide. This project is just to much. I guess I am going to have to cut it in half and start again.

:confused3:badpc::confused::eek:

I can't give up.

Yes, On Halloween Night, there is to be a Trick Or Treat Trail and Costume Contestthe following is direct from DCL Several “spooktacular” events will be taking place onboard. Events may
include:

*Family Trick or Treating
*Themed parties for children and teens
*Halloween Party with costume contest

All Guests are invited to wear their best Halloween costumes; however,
we ask that you choose costumes which are not obstructive or offensive.
To avoid any disappointment or delay in your boarding process, we ask
that when considering costume options you refrain from bringing toys or
props that resemble guns, knives or other related implements, as these
items will not be permitted onboard.

Will there be a pirate night event if there is a Halloween party? I am concerned since we have separate costumes for this occasion as well.
Yes, Pirate Night is Switched to Oct 31 I believe that is what my email says someone please clarify for me!

Is there a Princess Tea Party? How do we register? Is there a minimum age and do parents attend this event with the child? On past cruises there is "Tea with Alice" You book this upon arrival on the Wonder ask Guest Services for more information

Are the girls encouraged to dress in Princess Dresses?
It is after all a "Disney Cruise" so I say YES

I believe I read somewhere that there is a bed time story / slumber party with charters… any details is appreciated.
Not my department Anyone?

We plan on caring on wine for our dinners, are there any limits on the amount of bottles that we can bring on board? I believe there is no "limit" however the Cruise line website has a great FAQ section for that!

Anyone else getting gussied up for formal night? Semi- Formal?
Of Course! But know there are some that wont!

All travel tips are welcomed!!!
Whatever you pack! reduce by half! and see you onboard!

Thank You!!

This is something that's done as a part of one of the kids clubs. I believe it is only available to kids in a certain age range so you might want to call DCL to ask. Also, they DO NOT spend the night. It's called a "slumber party" but the kids do not actually sleep there. From what I understand the kids go in their jammies, they do pizza and stories and take pillow cases for the characters to sign. The kids get the time with the characters but then they go back to your room (I think at midnight). Like I said though, you should call DCL just to confirm.

There's never been a limit that I know of, but there is a corking fee if you take it to the dining room/a restaurant. Unfortunately, there is no way to get out of the fee. Years ago the corking fee was $20, so it may be different now - but it was $20 per bottle every time you took it to dinner, etc. It's a LOT! Again, you can call DCL to confirm, but I'd bet it's still the same. Honestly, you might be better off just paying for alcohol on the ship.

Anyone else getting gussied up for formal night? Semi- Formal?

We aren't/don't. We were considering getting Lorelai dressed up, but I don't think we will. We did last time, but since having the baby none of my clothes fit anymore and I don't want to buy a new outfit.

Every Disney cruise we've taken has been us as a couple without children. This will be our first sailing with a child so we don't know if/how that will change anything. Normally though we get our big Mickey finger, find a good seat and watch the fun! We stay on deck to hear the horn and watch some fun, but we don't always stay for the whole thing. We don't get down on the pool or anything either, just watch the kids. They are SO cute and funny! The kids' excitement is contagious! We also ALWAYS go to the members only DVC meeting! :woohoo:

We dance on Deck 10 so we can see everything.

What great info, thanks for sharing.

It is going to be our first cruise and we are looking forward to it . . . celebrating our 25th anniversary . . .well it will be our 26th, but we planned it on our 25th, lol.

The Fish Extenders sound like a fun thing, we may just do that.

Just checked in on-line and got an 1130-12 Boarding Time! We also booked Las Caletas in Puerto Vallarta, some Nursery time for our daughter (she'll be 14 Months at the time of the Cruise) and a Palo Brunch. Palo Dinner was sold out on the days we wanted, so we hope to book those on the ship. We are in Stateroom #1076 and will will be bringing my Wife's Mother Laurie along for the trip as well. Can't Wait! This will be our first Disney Cruise.

I feel so dumb, but how do I PM you? I can still make a reservation on my end. I was going to do it for maybe day 3? Or? What are you thinking? Definitely not a port day.

Sorry I missed this, but glad we connected! :goodvibes

We are fairly new, since the last cruise was our first. I guess what we will do the same is get a "Sail Away Drink", but this time we will go on down with the crowd since we have the kiddo and party away!

Most answers were already given, but just wanted to put what I know/have heard

There is no limit to how much you can HAND carry- It cannot be in your checked in luggage. We brought about 5 bottles of liquor on our cruise and only drank about 2 :rotfl: We had too much fun and didn't feel the need to heavily booze it up. We had a ton of fun with some of liquor tastings. We enjoyed the mojito tasting and the coffee/cognac tasting. I read somewhere on the DIS that if you bring a bottle of wine (and pay the corkage fee) and do not finish it at dinner, they will not charge you a subsequent fee and will even hold it for you. You are also allowed to hand carry a glass of wine into the dining room for dinner. I personally did do this.

Anyone else getting gussied up for formal night? Semi- Formal?
ABSOLUTELY!! But it wont be super gussied up, no tuxes, but we will be cleaned up :cutie:

Thank You!!

YAYY!!!! We have the 11-1130, so we will be right before you. We also signed up for Las Caletas, I am worried we wont get to make it due to budget, but I hope we can!!

So once again I just got back from a mini trip LOL We went to our friends lakehouse to relax. I am so ready to finally get this all in gear!! I am excited when I see halloween stuff in the store!! This is something I never do because I always feel rushed this time of year, but I don't mind it this year!!! :lmao:

QUESTIONS:
Is anyone visiting the parks the day before? We are, so I wanted to know if anyone else would :)

Those booking nursery time or have in the past, what did you book besides the obvious..Palo times....I am wondering if we should book some time after dinner that way he doesn't get restless after he eats. I think an hour MAX at dinner is enough time for him.

I e-mailed my join info. Will you post the final list after September 23rd.

This is my first time and am naive on how things work with this.

Thanks for your time.

Maria:cheer2:

Sorry, I couldn't find a Halloween one but I did find a normal Mexico one. I know it doesn't help for the Halloween schedule, but at least people who've never seen a Navigator can see one and get an idea of it. Here they are . . .

Thanks, what great info!

How do you know if things cost extra . . .like the wine tasting, stuff at the spa, virtual tours or scavenger hunts?

mallan :cool2:

We requested our dining rotation today, and we get to book our Palo and daycare on Monday. Hopefully they'll give us the APTAPTA rotation that we asked for. If they don't though, I think we'll request it again when we get on board. As long as we don't get the PTAPTAP rotation I'll be fine. Has anyone else requested a dining rotation yet?

Hi there, how do you request your rotation so you know? Our dining says Main Seating.

I am enjoying reading your pearls of wisdom. I am almost through all the pages. LOL.

Maria Allan :)
