I need your help bud.I recently got a new pc and am running windows xp.I don't know if that has anything to do with my problem but....

I installed PSP again(version6.02)My problem is.... when I export a frame(s)from animation shop to paintshop it works ok.It's when I try to update it back to animation shop that there is a problem.It doesn't update it back.Ever hear of this happening? Any idea why and what I can do to correct it? I searched the help index and found nothing on the subject. Hoping you have an answer for me,Thanks.

Yes gif.s and JPG.s. Actually I just opened it again and exported to Paitn shop and got an error message,it said it was sending it to JASC.I've never encountered this before,strange.Thanks for you help .

Not yet. Can you export to a seperate file and then use that file in the animator? Will it "save as" anything correctly?

Is this a new problem?

Have you tried to reinstall both applications?

I don't have XP to try it out, so all I can do is take some guesses. I can't find anything about anyone else having this problem either.

OK check this out....

We'll use my sig as an example, Say I opened this in animation shop ,I then export it to Paint shop.In Paint shop I add some font.I update it back and it is exactly as it was before I updated it.BUT,If I click on the clipoard,paste as new image,I will get the updated animation but it will no longer be transparent.Sometimesthis doesn't even work.

Can you drag it from one to the other or do you have to choose a menu command?

Brand new problem.It worked ok the first time I ran them.I was using a certain font in Paintshop and when I dragged it over to AS it said that font didn't exist.How can it exist in one and not the other?What do you think,Should I reinstall them?

I have a few applications that don't recognize certain fonts. It is possible. Reinstalling the one that doesn't recognize the font might not be a bad idea.

Dan, heard back from Jasc yet? I did notice that they had a message that said to upgrade to 6.02 to be compatible with Windows 2000. I wonder if they need another upgrade to 6.x to be compatible with XP?

Nothing yet.I had upgraded to 6.02 You can't upgrade to 7 without paying 99.00
I may have to do it. Here's something odd.With XP you can run the program in compatiblity mode,when I do that the whole program ceases to work.Do you use windows xp?

No, I've got it but I haven't installed it anywhere. I've got 95, 98 and 2000 running on different machines.

I think that Dan Murphy has it and he might be running PSP as well but I don't know.

I thought I saw on the Jasc site that if you were a registered user of an older version that you could upgrade to 7.x for $49. Still $$ out of the pocket and I would make sure that it worked with XP before doing it. The box just says 95/98/NT/2000/ME. I know it was out before XP was.

Yep.Just ordered it over the phone.It's only $49 as opposed to $99 if I was to get it online.7 is compatible with XP,I spoke with JASC tech support and he did a walk through. Thanks to both of you for your help
