MR BACK's Back!

C-Mom good luck to you and I wish for the best - that is that nothing is up and the tingling is nothing.

I have an MRI story for you. When I was 24 I lost vision in one eye so thus I had an MRI - I brought all my CDs that they tell you to bring and that helped a little but really not much because you really don't listen to them, you just lay there panicking.

When the results came back I had a lot of spots on my brain - like calcium desposits. So I was then sent down the road of finding out if I had MS. When I went to see the neurologist he got very angry that anyone said the words MS to me at all - told me no way do I need a spinal tap and here's why: At the time, there was very little data on what a healthy young brain looked like. Calcium deposits and spots are normal on an older brain, but they really don't know exactly what normal is on a 24 yo. Also, I sometimes get mirgraines and every time you do, you get a spot on your brain (that part alone is scary enough, hunh). So therefore, he said, lets just wait and see if you get any further symptons like tingling in the arms and lose my eyesight in one eye again. Thus he saved me from having to have a spinal tap - saved me from freaking out entirely, and basically its now 11 years later and here I am with no further symptons.

Its still in the back of my mind, but that one neurologist lifted the weight of the world from my shoulders.

My moral of my story is even if you have symptons of a very scary issue, often times thats all it is - symptons, not the real deal. Relax and let the medical professionals tell you when to worry - until then live each day as if nothing were there to worry about.

Hi everybody,

CG, Scary Story..... but it explains your political affiliations ;) (just kidding)
C-MOM, you will be OK...we are all sending you lots of PD...
---------

I just had a friend who uswd to work at WDW come by my office. I asked her for advice on an infant (she had her baby while working there)

1. RENT A CAR.
Disney Transportation is great and wonderful, but when you are with a small child the waiting is not acceptable. Additionally, cabbing it is not an option because of the car seat problems.

2. BRING A LIGHTWEIGHT UMBRELLA STROLLER.
The Disney strollers (while very cute) are not sanitized between uses. Also a bulky stroller doesn't travel well inside the Disney Transportation. He wil be in and out of the stroller a lot, don't worry about the 5pt harness. The lighter weight and smaller stroller will be much better.

OK, now to talk to DW.....

What are your thoughts?

Well, these sound good to me, but I suspect you're wanting to hear from parents! The car is a good option. Based on where you are staying and where you are going you can do Disney transportation with the lightweight stroller. Then you have the car for the trickier trips (resort to resort and Animal Kingdom). There were trips when we rarely used the car and others where we were in it daily...but then, I was traveling with the Shopping Goddess and we made runs to the outlet mall and Starbucks ::yes:: Of course, some of the bigger strollers have storage capabilities for diaper bags and all the other baby needs. Maybe a mom can recommend the perfect travel stroller.

I keep picking up lottery tickets....just in case....so I could make a MONTHLY visit to WDW for my October pals, November pals and once for me just before Christmas.

Sounds great... DW wants to take the regular stroller, I think that they may make us check it in the luggage. She said that my friend lived there, so the umbrella stroller was enough. We will not want to be carrying the diaper bag.

Oh well, back to work.

Thanks for the PD 39Cindy and Geffric. But please save it for next week. I am such a loser. I freaked out when they put me in that tube. My heart started beating really fast etc. I knew there was no way I could lay in that thing for 2.5 hours. Now I have to take a tranquilizer to sedate me before the test. Good. I would rather sleep during the test. Now I know that I am claustophobic! Why me???? I have to have a friend drive me. My hubby is in Egypt till who knows when so he is out of the picture. Thank God for good friends!!! :goodvibes

Thanks again. Off to pick up my happy pills!
OMG! This sounds horrible. :( I wish I could go down there right now and give you a big ol' hug. Wait I have an idea...forget the pills...I say we have a big party, fill you up on margaritas or any other VERY potent adult beverage of your choice ;) and once you pass out, we just stick you in that tube and voila!...over and done with before you know it! :teeth: Sure wish it were that easy...I'm so sorry this is happening to you...you're in my thoughts and prayers

Castlegazer Your MRI experience is pretty scary but so happy everything turned out well...and keeping my fingers crossed that no symptoms develope ever again ::yes::

Ohanafamily All this stroller talk is making me laugh! It reminds me of Jordan's stroller and how it caused such "stroller envy" amongst my friends :p For a baby gift, a shifty salesperson talked my sweetheart of a brother into paying an OBSCENE amount of $$$ for our super-light, super-easy to manage stroller and it was truly worth every penny. Not bulky at all and had all the bells and whistles you could imagine....I still think he paid way too much for it but gotta admit I just loved that stroller ;) At a baby shower soon after, Jordan's dad, who had just purchased a really nice (and obscenely priced) BMW was bragging about his nice new car and the funny thing was that noone there cared about his stupid car, they were all amazed that we actually owned the newest and hottest stroller on the market! :rotfl2:

Popping in to say "HI"

It's Emmy awards night......got to go buy my munchies to settle in for the night. Got to be sure and have left overs for Wed night too.....LOST season opener ::yes::

I forgot about the Emmys. We usually don't watch award shows. I got some good snacks yesterday though.

:) I can't wait for the season openers of Extreme Home makeover (need to get my Ty fix & NC Beast likes Paige on that show) and Desparate Housewives.

HI - guys I AM BACK!!!!!

I just went down to NJ for a few days on business. It was my first time away from Catrina and my first time away from the fam for quite a while. IT WAS AWESOME! It was awesome getting away even if I had to work like a dog.

I stayed in a Residence Inn - LOVE those! So I got a fireplace and a full kitchen. I found this amazing place to buy partially cooked Crab Cakes and seafood that you then heat for a few minutes in the oven back home and it was sooo great to have this. They had amazing food. I got to see all the movies I missed like Star Wars (loved it) and Batman Begins (TOTALLY LOVED THIS - CHIRSTIAN BALE
3.gif
) and I got to see some friends that we haven't seen in a long long time. It was overall a great time.

Catrina got a tooth while I was gone and she started babling like she had tons to say. It was great coming home to them. The limo service dropped me off and they all came running out the door - what a great reception.

Its nice to have a break and then come home. It was like a mini vacation that I had to do some work on.

Ohanafamily First of all, let me say I have all the confidence in the world in RRBB's decision-making so if she says your stroller is adequate for this trip, then it is :) and besides, I feel guilty that I even brought up mine  and although I love it and still use it for my niece and nephew, I think it cost too much. But to answer your question, our stroller is an Aprica and sorry to say I can't remember the exact model but my neighbor has a new Aprica very similar to ours and she paid around $450-500. But she definitely loves hers too! :goodvibes

Oh, and one more thing. I recently flew with my niece and nephew and the airlines will let you bring the stroller right up to the gate where they tag it, check it and then have it there waiting for you when you land. Just make sure you let them know you wish to do this when you first check-in. ::yes::

:sunny:
I got to say this:

:cool1: Less than 29.5 days until we will be at MK in the morning and closing
with Epcot at EMH.

I got a husband brag: Yesterday, he bbq'ed and then reorganized the upper cabinets in the kitchen (he even wiped the insides down before reloading). :flower:

Now THAT is definitely something good to brag about...sounds like you got yourself a keeper! ::yes:: btw, do you ever rent him out for small parties? :rotfl2: ....also jealous of your countdown clock...wanna trade? :teeth:

Hi all, I thought I was lost. Guess I was just missing you guys. :cool1:

My expensive stroller is a MacClaren, Triumph. I LOVE it. I couldn't believe it when I bought it, but seeing as I am showing below.....I am so happy. Actually, one trip to Disney and I was thrilled I had that stroller. I had 2 others before it and this one BLOWS THEM AWAY! It's got a rain cover, a carrying handle, one hand folding, reclining and super light weight. I wouldn't trade it for nuthin!

Cadburysmom--- no trades unless you have either conceirge or the GF or the Poly (MK view optional). Rental prices will depend on the occasion and type of service being render.

 Lewski

Okay, time to change some dining plans and possible ADRs.

LEWSKI!,

Did everyone remember to talk like a pirate: yesterday?

chocolategirls I picked up a lottery ticket today....just in case. Where's that finger crossing smilie?

Mornin' guys! NCBelle, your DH rocks!!!!!!!

My DH cleaned and picked up the house for me while I was away. I have to say, though that the whole cleanin out cabinets is all mine - never seen him do that.
