NC Belle .... we have changed the plans.. or should I say that DH has made changes.. after all, he and Eric are charge. Although eric just got home last night, so I expect that he will makes some changes too. But DH isn't interested in leaving wednesday night when i get home from work.. He wants to do the early Thursday am thing and it is a 12 hour drive from here.. so he is thinking that we won't stop at all..

iluvtink what Magical Rates in Jan/Feb 2006????? I don't know about those! I was freaking because the rates for the 1/14 cruise went up last week. Well, I wasn't freaking, I was expecting rates to keep going up,, just not the day I was considering sneakily booking that cruise 'just in case' it's the one we want. At what point, if ever, before sailing does DCL 'discount' available staterooms. AND at the 90 day point, when full payment is due, I assume there are people who cancel......so at day 89 rooms may open up, but are they still upping the price at that time. Should I PM you to get phone number so we can talk??????

My understanding is that Magical Rates are given on Category 12 only and are usually dates that don't sell out as quickly, i.e. January, early Feb., and maybe October. DCL's rooms are the cheapest when the prices first come out for the new season ... i.e. this September or so, I will get prices for 2007. There will be a certain number of staterooms at the cheapest price, then when those sell out, the next price level kicks in. The Magical Rates on Cat 12 stay the same until they are all gone. I've never seen Disney "discount" staterooms ... they may do it, but they don't broadcast it very far, except for those Magical Rates. They recently gave a $25 shipboard credit for anyone booking between a certain time for sailings later on in the year, but that has expired.

So, I called Shell vacations and booked 5 nights at the Peacock suites (1 bedroom) 8/26-8/31. Including parking, total cost = FREE

I still have Disneyland annual pass. Park admissions = FREE

Because of above, parking = FREE

I'll be driving. Gasoline = $50

Groceries for supplies in room, oh let's say = $40

Restaurant budget = $210

Five day vacation = $300 Total


Perhaps TiggersPal will be joining me and PERHAPS a certain gentleman from Las Vegas

Good Monday morning!!

It's another HOT one here , going to be 100 today, and the heat index is a number that I can't bring myself to say.

We took a little overnight trip to the Cincy zoo, which was nice. In one area of the park they were playing that kinda music you hear over near the Safari in AK. And as hot as it was, for a brief moment, I really felt like I was there. December hurry up!!!

I've got a QOTD for all you DisneyLand regulars. I'll be hearing from DHB shortly so tell me, what's your #1 must EAT at DL? You gotta answer quick, they plan on being at the gate at park opening today.

Tinkbackwards.. a large number of people love blue bayou.. it is the restuarnat in front of Pirates. We did not eat there so i can't tell ya.. Ibouncetoo is really your best resource. We did a lot of counter service and Rain Forest and ESPN Zone. The pasta, pizza, salad place by Space Mountain is on the Disney Visa extra 10% off and was okay..

off to see what is happening.. be back soon..

They are eating at that Blue Bayou place, I think for lunch. I'll be sure and mention the other place with the 10% discount to her, she may already know, but I'm not sure. Thanks for the tip!

FOR SURE: Storyteller's Cafe in the Grand Californian. My favorite is their breakfast buffet. They serve from the menu also, so it's great....you can order from the menu for the little ones and mom and day can chow down. They have a lovely dinner buffet too.


ALSO: Goofy's Kitchen in the DIsneyland Hotel.....think Chef Mickey's

COUNTER SERVICE: Bengal BarBQue in Adventureland. Steak and Chicken on a stick....and yummy aspergras wrapped in bacon.

For family ambiance: Ariel's (they might call if Captain Mickey's now) in California Adventure. Limited menu, but eating out on the water is lovely (I've only had lunch there, several years ago, but remember enjoying the burger.) It's the one in this picture: And has characters!

TB's QOTD? We love to eat at Blue Bayou. The food is ok but the location is the best. The ride is definately better than the POC at WDW. hands down!

MAD are we back on the subject of Rick's wand???? shhhh many weren't around that long ago. We may get in trouble for mentioning it!! hehehe and if anyone is interested in what we are talking about ask Rick! (shhhhh Mad says it glows!!)

I will mention this one to DHB, is it sit-down? Since they are only going to the park one day and are already doing Blue Bayou, I doubt they'll do another sit-down meal. And Lainie did NOT like the characters at the Lilo & Stitch breakfast.

OK - first off, what's up with this???? Totally happens to me too. The missing sock and undies household - its only my son's too - my DH and i can always find ours! And yeah, what's up with the cool sheets with Thomas, or Bob, or in your case Scooby Doo and Star Wars being the cheapest, most disgusting sheets on the planet. Why oh Why can't Pottery Barn Kids get in on the action and make real sheets that the kids want to sleep in?????

Prime Rib is my ultimate favorite meal in the world - well, I guess behind Lobster, though.


Yup, ibouncetoo - no discounts. All other cruise lines discount heavily right before the cruise - not Disney. Totally stinks. Book immediately when the rates come out - that's your best chance on a so called Disney "discount".

OK - on the home front. After the kids went to bed on Saturday night - late because we were out at a party way too long - my DH and I took beers out to the deck and snuggled and talked about our stress. We're good now. Women do think men can just figure it out - but, they just can't. They need a road map to understand.

Hi guys!

Just got back from dinner at Outback...the prime rib was yummy!

Waking up extra early tomorrow to drive Jordan up to camp in the NC mountains.

He'll be there for 2 wks and packing for him is driving me nuts Had to take a little DIS break to retain my sanity. Seems his undergarments are pulling a disappearing act. I bought 12 prs of ankle socks at the beginning of the summer and now he only has 4 1/2...what the heck not to mention most of his underwear guess I gotta make a last minute Target run. Also sending 2 sets of Kmart sheets: Star Wars for the 1st wk and Scooby Doo for the 2nd wk...both made of the cheapest material ever, paper thin and rough as sandpaper, probably rub him raw nightly, but he luvs em anyway!

Well, DIS break's over now, gotta get back to packing...
