MR BACK's Back!

lleberkniT, yes it's a sit down restaurant. It's the kind where you pick one entree, one dessert and one starter (soup/salad) from the menu for a set price. Five of us ate there for lunch and all were happy, though I don't remember the details...it was a couple of years ago. I WILL be eating there again in about three weeks ::yes:: But I'd do lunch at Storeyteller's if I could only choose one. A little 'sit down' in the Grand Californian lobby is also a nice break from the heat.

I must hit the shower....but I'll leave the computer on and will check back to see if you have any more questions in the next hour.

Cheeringmom I haven't , but last year on Columbus day weekend was when the group had a meet.. Anyway, let me know if you are going during the weekend of November 11th.. Geoff, my Dad and I will be there for the food and wine weekend getaway..

Hmmm, OK. Did you ever tell DHB about it before? I know she did her homework before she left. I am going to give her a ring-a-ding-ding right now, make sure everybody out there is wide awake and busy-tailed! Don't want them to miss that tram. ;)

I'll let you know if she has any questions for you. :)

Tinkbackwards.. . The pasta, pizza, salad place by Space Mountain is on the Disney Visa extra 10% off and was okay....

Um, was that place called Red Rockets? I just talked to DHB and she said she is most in need of somewhere in CA with counter service for this evening. I am reading back through the posts now to see if anybody has anything counter service for her.

who has been to Disney over Columbus day weekend? Crowded? Wondering if I should go or not. Thinking about getting some passes but not sure I want to fight the crowds. Anyone??

ME! Crowded - You betcha! In fact, we don't think we'll go back at that time again. I think it was also the fact that Food & Wine had just opened, but it was HOT, HUMID and crowded. Three things me no likey. :sad2:

Counter service at CA:

Hot dog place in the Hollywood area

McDonalds/Pizza/Corn Dogs all available in the Paradise Pier area

Best bet: Several counter places and LARGE seating area with umbrellas over by the Tortilla factory/pier area. Chinese/Mexican/bread bowls etc etc. Oh and a bakery there too.

Thanks a bunch, I know DHB will appreciate your advice. They should be standing in front of the DL gates right about now. :)

I wish I was (well, actually all of us were) with them instead of heading off to work! I'm very happy I get to squeeze one more visit in with my AP. After that, it will be dreaming about cruising :boat:

I wish I was with her too. But there's just no way we can get away at this time of year.

I'd also love to squeeze another trip outta my AP, but that would mean going by mid-Oct. and that's not going to happen. I'm such a wimp when it comes to that heat/humidity combo. ::yes::

But happily, I will get one more trip out of my Disney Dining dicount card thing. IF I can find the card, that is. It's one of those things that I wake up thinking about in the middle of the night. I've got to take time to find that card. :scared:

oooo as cute as DHB ande her kids are I bet they will be picked for Grand Marshalls. Wouldn't that be great??

Thanks for the advice about Columbus Day. i kinda figured that. Thinking about buying the cheap blackout passes. I hate Florida in the summer and hate crowds so I really won't mind the blackout dates. Wouldn't go during those times any how. But need to find out the dates for NEXT year so I can plan accordingly. hmmm something to research....

I've put in a "special place" passes with pluses left on them. I wake in the middle of the night thinking of them too. Damn, that's a good, safe, place I put thoses passes in - wherever that may be!

llebrekniT other counter service at CA... there is pizza ooo mo mo.. with the 10% Visa discount and the counter service place next to Soarin'. I think it is Test pilots.. we did love the bread bowl food but .. too much bread for me although the salad was yummy.. The chinese isn't open anymore so it is just the mexican and bread bowl place. Great Place to sit and watch the world. My boys loved the bread factory tour with the free samples and the tortilla tour with the free samples. We also liked the wine place right accross the street too..

OMG! I do this all the time. I've gotten to where I have to say outloud "I am putting _______ in the sock drawer/kitchen cabinet/etc...." It's awful. I figure by the time I reach 40, I will have lost just about everything, mainly my memory. I think it's because of these kids. Is it true that you lose brain cells with each pregnncy? ;)

Ok. What is the name of the place with the bread bowl food? Pa would probably like that, he and Grandma could split something I bet. Is that the bread factory? I'm confused, but DHB may know already.

Grandma will probably need to check ou the wine place, I'm sure she'll need no help sniffing that one out. ;)

it is the attached to the Boudin bread factory.. it is in the "LARGE seating area with umbrellas over by the Tortilla factory/pier area. Mexican/bread bowls etc etc. Oh and a bakery there too. can't miss it. it is betwen the bug's life playground and the walk way to Ca Screaming, before you get the Ariel's.

:earseek: OMG...all this talk of yummy Disneyland food is making me hungry!!! :bounce:

I wanna go too! I wanna go too!

Cheeringmom All I remember about WDW that weekend was how good the Food & Wine Festival was and how much I enjoyed meeting up with some fun-loving DISer's! ;) :p
...and how sad we were that certain others couldn't be there with us :(

llebrekniT You're such a good SIL, just what would DHB do without ya :) and yep, take it from me, once you hit 40 you'll remember nothing...now what was I saying again?

Castlegazer Glad you and hubby worked things out :lovestruc

:crazy2: ....and sorry to beat my "sock rant" to death but not only did I have to make a last minute Target run for new ankle socks and underwear, but no stores were open late Sat night that sold cheap soccer socks so I had to send Jordan to camp with the super dooper expensive, special order team color ones :rolleyes2 ...come to find out a big nighttime activity at camp is "Sock Wars" campers fling their flour filled long socks at their opponents marking them "out" with a big ol' white splat mark....the longer the sock the better...guess which ones Jordan will probably use :bitelip: :rotfl2:

By the way, I forgot to say that Catrina's PT went fine on Friday. In fact it made me feel so much better. Apparently I did not flatten her head - her neck muscle tightness is yet another of her things and is a condition that she most likely had in the womb and translated into the way she always held her head and thus held it one way for sleeping. I have been doing everything they suggested and much of it we had started prior to the session just as a "Mommy knows" type of activities like trying to stretch her neck muscles, etc. This girl has the most little things wrong of anyone I know. None of her things are any big deal, but put them all together and boy, we are going to be spending an awful lot of time with doctors.

DHB - when you get back and read every single page that you missed, which I am sure you will do :p - just wanted you to know you are missed. I am soo jealous.

Um, what, pray tell, type of camp is the boy going to? Ouch! A smackdown with flour-filled socks! Sounds painful. ::yes:: Whatever happened to pillow fights? Boys! :rolleyes2

Guess what! I got to ride The Pooh ride earlier today. :hyper: The phone rang and when I picked it up I could hear lots of background noise and the sound of (what I figured to be) someone walking. Then the sound turned to Pooh bear tunes. I kept shouting HELLO! but no one answered and I couldn't make myself hang up. I think it was a subconscious need those people have for me to be there with them. ;) It was almost as good as being there. :sad2: NOT!
I talked to DHB a while later and they had just gotten off Haunted Mansion, which Lainie proclaimed to be "PUN!" and "Pookie". :)

Glad to hear the appointment went well. Hopefully all these little issues will slowly disappear with time. Ella had an immature tear duct that made her eye clog shut with "gunk" and tear and it was red and raw and ugly for about the first 6 months or so. Poor thing. I got questioned about it constantly, every where we went I had to explain. And of course I got all kinds of those "I dunno about that" looks when I would say it's no big deal. I know everybody who saw her thought it was all kinds of infected. :rolleyes2

I will pass on to DHB that she is both missed and hated right now. ;)

MAD are we back on the subject of Rick's wand???? shhhh many weren't around that long ago. We may get in trouble for mentioning it!! hehehe and if anyone is interested in what we are talking about ask Rick! (shhhhh Mad says it glows!!)

Since Lewski reminded me the other day that she expect some level of direct attention only directed at her loveliness, Hello Lewski. How are you this afternoon? Feeling good I hope? How's the bun in the oven? What's shakin' mama?

Mad4Mick, hands off the wand woman. No take backs. It is firmly ensconced in my abode and will heretofore be menioned ONLY with capitalization as The Wand.
