MR BACK's Back!

Thanks, Please Pardon my drool...

I was looking for that info, and got lost in a Why Buy DVC thread on the DVC board... you can imagine the responses; my favorite response was something to the effect of seperate rooms increases Daddy's chances of getting lucky from 0% to almost 100% ;) ;)

Thanks! Maybe you and I could just wait outside the cruise terminal with our thumbs out and some kind-hearted DVC'er will take us with em ;) :p

NC Belle :3dglasses Be sure to keep your TV tuned to WTVD 11 news as both Jordan and OUR car(blue volvo wagon) are gonna be on it! :cheer2: His school had a carwash today for the Katrina victims and the TV news van happened to pull up while they were washing my car. Probably only a 2 second blurb on the late news but heck, we don't care, just fun to say we were on TV!! ::yes::

You should had told me about the car wash---our car needs one. I was in town this afternoon to pick up NC Beast from work (he did his usual 10+ hours plus little over 5 hours on his side project).

OK Folks, TagBabyIan is now 27" long. He is almost too long for the carrier... I need your recommendations for a Combo Car Seat... Maybe even one for my car and one for the upcoming trip....

Mommies, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Help!!!!!!!

We went with the Eddie Bauer 3-in-1 by Cosco.
http://www.babyuniverse.com/pro.asp?rc=715151981516&id=45335

I liked it because:
--good for 5 lbs to 100 lbs....I'll never have to buy another car seat, no matter how high those car seat laws go!
--still allows for rear-facing up to 35 lbs (safer position) then just turn around when over 35 lbs.
--height was easily adjusted (never have to rethread your straps yourself....at least not due to growth spurt....you *will* have to do it whenever he gets sick in his car seat and you have to disassemble to wash)
--when forward facing, it still has 3 reclining options (this was hard to find on larger car seats when we were buying...may be easier these days). We make lots of car trips, so the recline feature was a MUST for us.
--cup holders help keep them from dropping their cups (and therefore juice) in the car
--the biege material blended in well with my interior

If you are already wanting to go forward-facing, you can save a little money by getting the one that is for 20-100 pounds (does NOT allow for rear-facing):

OH...and I found much better prices than these at JCPenney during their baby sale :)

Now...I know LOTS of people swear by Britax seats. So you may want to check those out, too.

Katie!

Have you guys decided when you are doing your Disneyland trip? Is it still on? I hope so. The weather is only getting more beautiful as the days go by.

Thanks soo much KADATEN. We will look at those. How does it fly???

Good morning everyone! :sunny:

Hope ya'll had a great weekend...Jordan's soccer team won and I was able to drag him to his church youth group without much revolt last night so I'd say this weekend was quite the success! :teeth:

NC Belle Oops...sorry I didn't tell you about Jordan's car wash sooner  but tell da Beast to quit working so many long hours...he's gonna wear himself out and not have any energy for WDW! :earboy2: Oh and just so you know, I entered a drawing for a free dinner for four at the Cheesecake Factory so if we win, hopefully you and da Beast could join us...keep those fingers crossed! :goodvibes

Geffric So are you at Pop in Nov? Not sure where I'm staying yet...depends on my cousins. They've got rsvns at POFQ AND WL and can't make up their minds  I told'em I've got friends staying at Pop so that'd be fine with me too...guess I'll just have to wait and see...btw, forgot to ask before, what time is our ADR?

Lewski Fingers crossed that the rest of your inspection goes well! ::yes::

Cheeringmom Just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you...good luck with your test results!

Hey to shift gears completely:

kadaten!!! I suddenly can see signature pictures for a split second today! I know that's an old picture, but what I wanted to comment on is that it looks like you have gotten into digital scrapbooking! I am a total addict right now and have gotten full force into it. Am I right that you are doing it too????

Oh, and I am one to swear by Britax! But kataden has a very good point as I am now facing buying two new ones for our cars for Catrina plus getting new boosters for my son as he reaches 40 pounds. So point well taken, and in fact may adjust what I am doing for Catrina......

Hi all, OK, RRBB went to look at them this morning and was told that the Eddie Bauer one that faces both ways "doesn't strap down" right in the backwards position...

What else is going on today?

Well, it looks like it's gonna be put off until spring. :( We've been super busy since the move...just haven't caught back up yet. Case in point...been here 3 months and still don't have a doctor for me! My to-do list seems unending....

PLUS, we've got lots of other plans already this fall. DH is doing a bit of traveling for work--this week he's in DC and a trip to London mid-October. We're all attending a family wedding in Cancun over Columbus day weekend. And we have a short Disney trip planned for Oct 23-25 after DH gets back from England. Then Turkey Day break with the in-laws, then 5 more days at Disney the week before Christmas, then will probably have the in-laws here in Tampa for the actual holiday. DH is looking at more traveling in Jan, and possibly one in Feb that I *might* get to go on. SO, it's anybody's guess when we'll have time to squeeze it in. PLUS, my in-laws who would keep the kids have been busy themselves......

No clue. Haven't flown with kids since Abbie was tiny enough to stay in my arms the whole time.

Are your back seats are somewhat angled (lower in back than at front edge of seat)? We had the same problem, but had it with most seats we tried. We ended up getting the EB anyway, and used one of those pillows meant to raise short people up while driving (it's wedge shaped) to level out the seat surface. Since the instruction book said to do it (or use a rolled up towel) I figured it must be ok to do that way.

Something else to note: Those convertible seats, when in the rear-facing position, take up lots of room! Ours would only fit in the middle of my car at the time (Honda Accord) where the head of the car seat rested between the diriver and passenger seat backs. It would not fit on either side, even with the seat pulled all the way up! That was alright with me, as I planned on leaving it in the middle....but if you need the seat on the side for any reason, this would be something to double-check before deciding. But if you have a big vehicle, it's probably not an issue. :)

So RRBB is VERY smart to try them before buying!!! We had a friend who didn't and found out the hard way! :teeth:

 I wish. I wish I was doing *any* scrapping lately. My craft room is still a 1/2 unpacked, disorganized disaster area. I would probably get a lot more done if I did digital scrapping, but with the amount of supplies I have around, I have to use them! Plus, I've gone back to wet film, at least for now. Bought myself a Canon Rebel last year and got myself a zoom lens this spring. I get my pics printed and on cd, but it'd be adding a step to transfer them onto the computer to work with them all. That picture is my old one. (Finally dumped RoadRunner who wouldn't allow linking....so I can have pics again!) I'd added the border when playing around in Paint Shop Pro after a friend gave me a copy last spring. I still only know how to use about 2% of that program, but I can add borders! I just like it better with the border....it looks more finished :)

I'd love to see some of your creations! Are you posting your layouts online anywhere? I'm sure Catrina is quite an inspiration! :goodvibes

So, technically you are doing digital with that old photo! ;) I have a lot of new layouts that I am loving sooo much, but no I haven't posted them - it takes a lot of work to post layouts digitally because you have to keep track of every element you used or got for free and give credit - you have to do this in traditional too, but its much more detailed digitally and I haven't gotten up the nerve to go for it yet. I am very, very proud of what I have been doing so I need to get over it and just post on Two Peas, and when I do I will give everyone the link, but I am still very nervous. The people involved in the digital stuff over there are all the designers right now and they are amazing!

If you get HER one, you gotta get me one too!

Kadaten My DSIL has that same carseat and loves it! I truly thought she'd only gotten it for the "designer name", bless her heart ;) ....then after your recommendation and reading the great reviews, I felt kinda guilty. But gotta admit she does go a little overboard on the designer names....Jeep stroller, etc... and I'm starting to think they've changed my nephew's name to POLO! :p

NC Belle Family members affected by the hurricanes? :confused3 How are they doing???

:rotfl2: Now that is funny! I have cousins whose children do not wear anything but Polo. Its kind of wierd. I am all for designer labels, but it starts to look weird once you notice that they always have horsies on their chests at all times.

I ditto this, NCBelle, is there an update?

Ummm, Ian has a jeep stroller... He likes honking at the girls as we walk by them on our morning walks... The older ladeus that ooohhh and ahhh over him love the attention ;)

Hey Lewsky, how are you feeling?

Hi everyone!!!

My TX BIL and his family are doing well. They stayed at their home during Rita---no power loss and no damage. I guess that their neighborhood did well because its located west of Houston.
