It was our first full day at a theme park. The kids were foaming at the mouth for the hulk ride, BiGGy was waiting in anticipation for spiderman, mom was working out how many cigarette breaks there would be and Mrs BiGGy was ready to hit those water rides.
Everyone was wondering what would be found in moms backpack that day.
BiGGy was well happy today. His faithfull other woman never let him down and directed him to the universal valet parking.
Mrs BiGGy said that we should go to the right hand side and do the big rides last as the queues won't be so long. How wrong she was. All of orlando must have descended on Islands of Adventure that day.
We decided to do the wet rides first so that we could dry off the rest of the day.
Mrs BiGGy and the kids went on the barge ride whilst BiGGy and mom went to find a good spot to capture the drowned rats on film. BiGGy was just miffed that he'd left his bag of tricks at the hotel room. His waterproof cover was still in his case.
BiGGy managed to get DD to pose under the Betty Boop bubble for a picture.
"I'm only having one picture taken" said our suddenly pictureshy tweenie.
Hmm, thought BiGGy. Another job for David Bailey. Try and make it look as though DD actually came on holiday with us.
So that you get the picture at this piont, BiGGy and his many bags of photographic bits and pieces, was on a quest to beat his number of photos taken last year. About 2000. Meanwhile, mom was trying to keep up with him on her little digital camera with not much space on the memory card. So everytime David Bailey took a picture of something, mom just had to take one aswell. If he was taking one , then she would aswell!
We eventually got round to spiderman and it was rammed. BiGGys bottom lip quivered at the thought of not seeing his comic book hero.
Meanwhile, mom was offering drinks all round from her tardis bag. This bottomless pit held everything!
The sign on the hulk said 15 minutes so junior,DD and Mrs BiGGy went on. An hour later they came waltzing off. Off they went to Dr Dooms Fearfall and wasn't impressed when they came back.
To cheer BiGGy up off we went for dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe.
Well, got there and was ushered upstairs by someone from the reception.
"Your server will be along to take your order shortly." she said.
Was we in for a surprise. The guy looked and talked like he'd done too much acid in the 70's. We gave him our order and it took a couple of seconds to register what we had said. Talk about going with the theme of the place.
Mom noticed that anything that had Hard Rock on,which wasn't nailed down, wasn't going to be missed. So that backpack was opened again.
The food was great as usual. The kids eyes were bigger than their bellys as they couldn't finish the big fudge brownie pudding. Mrs BiGGy had the cheesecake whilst BiGGy himseelf was dropping his bottom lip. His fat free diet was going to be hard this trip.
Off we went back home to bed to get some sleep for another hard day at Universal tomorrow.
