Will uk mp3 player speakers work if I plug them in to the mains in florida? (obviously via an adaptor)
I cant decide whether to buy a cheap set in walmart and leave them or buy speakers before we go. decisions, decisions!!!
OK the answer is it depends on how much power they need but I would assume yes. If you are worried go to Tescos and get the cheap ones they do in their value range (they are small and dont need power) this way you cover yourself and have them when you first get there. I think they are about £5
Thanks for that reply, it really helped because I think we wanted them for the pool so we wanted half decent ones, we will wait till we get out in fl I think, thanks for your help,
I have two small speakers that we take abroad (size 12cm x 7cm) they are powered by battery or if your batteries die they still work through an ipod, so there is no need for a mians adaptor. Although mine are years old the sound quality is good, it has bass boost, treble settings etc, I think they cost £40 but that was pre-digital era about 11 yrs ago I'm sure speakers will be much cheaper now. They had a good selection at the airport (vat free?) but maybe cheaper again to buy in Fl
Thats a good idea, I will look at the aiport, they can tell me if they will work, if not I will get from FL, we are in usa lots so can just keep them to go to usa.
Have a look at the mains adapter for the speakers. It should have the voltage marked on it somewhere. If it's 110 - 240 volts then it will be fine. If it's just marked 240 volts then you might struggle with them.
If you want to use them by the pool I'd suggest battery operated ones just to be on the safe side with the water.
