Moving to VWL from Pop..any advice?

I know that I can leave my bags at Pop and they will take them over to VWL. Do I leave them in my room when I check out in the moring? Should I go to VWL right after that in the morning, pre check in and then hit the parks? Or should I just go to the parks after I check out from Pop and then go to WL later in the day?

Does checking in earlier up my chances of getting a room request? I am asking for a dedicated studio on 1st floor.

You will have to be in the room when the bell hop picks up your bags.

Yes the quicker you get to the VWL the better chance you have of the room being ready early.

I would get up early, go to VWL while the family packs. Check in at the VWL, and then go back to the Pop, call a bell hop, have them get your bags, and head to the parks for the day.

That is the way we do split stays at DVC resorts.

I thought this was the case but we just got back on the first from Disney and our first night we stayed at POP before moving to BCV. I told my husband we would have to be in the room when they picked them up, but when I called they asked how many and said to leave them inside the door if we were leaving. We did just that and they were delivered fine and dandy to BCV last that day. I was surprised.

JimDVC says it best. I get up at 6 am drive or cab over to the new resort and check in. Almost NEVER is the room ready. After checkin get the bags transferred by Bell services and get the troops rollin. If I have a car I try to go to Animal Kingdom 1st and drive over. Doing so I pack a day bag (Sundry items, bathsuits, change of clothes) so that if I have to leave the park early and the room isnt ready I have options!

I ended up paying $15 and DS and I took the cab over to VWL. We took our bags with us because when I called bell services, they told me to bring them down to the bell stand when I check out. I figured if I had to bring them down there, I might as well take them with me because we were planning on going swimming in the afternoon anyway.
