Hey folks! Brady, here, 17, turning 18 in March, and I'm going to be moving down to Florida around the June/July time frame, or whenever I can find an apartment, and I was wondering if some of you all know people who are looking for apartments, or if you're looking for an apartment, or etc. etc. you know?

My hope is to get to know some people so I'm not completely alone when I move to Orlando. I'm going to call up Disney and set up an appointment for an audition so job-wise, I know what I'll be doing, but mostly I'd just like to get to know you guys :)

What kind of job are you looking for? Also have you been on Craigs list? Just do an internet search, they have a section for people looking for roomates.

I'm not exactly sure how they cast people, but I'm a singer, but not good enough to be a full blown entertainer, yet, haha. I would enjoy working on the rides, and being in character. Working at either Magic Kingdom or MGM Sounds like fun to me. I've always been someone who likes interacting with people, so maybe auditioning for Streetmosphere might be good too. :)

Brady, glad to hear we're not the only ones moving to Florida. :wizard:

Disney has a specific program for recent high school graduates that want to work at Disney. It's called Disney's CareerStart. It's basically like the College Program, you'd live in on of the apartment complexes that Disney has their CPs live in and have transportation to work, etc. http://www.disneycareerstart.com

Wish they had it when I was starting out! princess: Anyways, Matt and I are moving down approximately around May, so maybe we'll see ya down there.

Thank you so much for this information! The program is usually for those who don't know what they want to do, correct? I am wondering, though, if my plan IS to work for the Disney Company, then what do I do? It almost seems like the program is temporary, meaning only for a while until you are prepared to go into college. The people I have talked to who have been involved in the program always tell me that their last day is (so and so) and then they'll be going to (so and so) college. If I wanted a permanent job with the company, would they always continue to station me at different parks and different places, or would I work at the same park, in the same area, every day? Haha, questions questions question.

Well, when I graduate from High School, and I've turned 18 and everything else, this program will be the first thing I'll look into.

Just wanted to wish you luck on your move, I think it's very brave of you to start a new life like that right out of school.

Well, like they always say, "A dream is a wish your heart makes" and this is my dream, and I'm going to make it come true no matter what. :)

Now that's an attitude I love. Go for it.
