This should be pretty straight-forward, but for some reason, I can't get it to work. I installed iTunes to my C drive, but want to move it to my D drive without uninstalling and reinstalling. It's taking up entirely too much space and my D drive is practically empty.

I've moved filed to D before (mostly pictures and games), but can't seem to get the iTunes to go.

What am I doing wrong?

When you install a program, it sets up certain parameters in the Window's Registry. That's why you can't just move the file in most cases. Especially one like that. You'll need to go to Window's control panel, add/remove program, remove the program, then reinstall it to your other drive.

Hint: After you remove it, before installing it onto D: drive, I'd recommend you first clean D: drive, and then defrag it. The wording may be slightly different, but again, Control Panel, Performance/Maintenance, then (1) Free up Space, followed by (2) Rearrange Items to make program run faster. Then when you install the program, it will all be contiguous on the drive.

P.S., you should go through these steps any time before installing any new sizeable software package.

Thanks, but if I uninstall and reinstall, I lose my library. I don't want to do that. Guess I'll be keeping it in C. I'll have to see if there are other things I can move or get rid of.

BTW, I defrag, etc. on a regular basis.
