Movies you WON'T watch when they come on televsion?.

Inspired by the thread started by Annette VA -- "what movie MUST you watch when it plays on TV", what movie can you not watch, you know ... the one you change the channel on before the opening credits end?

I can't watch Cocktail, with Tom Cruise. That has got to be one of the most awful movies ever made. :crazy2:

I quickly turn the station. Good grief, what was he thinking!

I can't watch Pretty Woman.

I've tried and tried, but I don't buy it. I know, it's only a movie, it's fantasy, it's a feel good movie, but I just can't get into it.

I can't watch The Breakfast Club. It was okay the first time I saw it eons ago, now it irritates me.

I can't watch Footlose. Yikes!

Saw it once, sat there like :eek:

and can never watch it again. Too corny.

It's an oldie, but I've never been able to watch Bonnie & Clyde. I think my very young, and then, not so wise parents took me to see it at the theater hoping I'd sleep through it, but it ended up scaring me to death.

Any of the Star Wars movies and any of the Star Trek movies. I'm not a sci-fi fan. I used to be married to a Star Wars fan. We had life-size cutouts of C3PO and Amidala in our house. :rolleyes:

I can't watch anything with surgery involved. The second I see blood, my knees are jello.

I won't watch anything with Sylvester Stallone. He makes me ill.

I can't watch anything on the WB channel.

I can understand the majority of them, but Cocktail?!?!?! Cocktail?!?!? Do you watch THAT one? :eek:

Bonnie and Clyde is one of my all time favorite movies.

Boy, that movie really romaticizes voilence though!

I'm not a Sci-Fi fan either. I can watch them if there is nothing else on and it's a cold, rainy day and I'm ready for a nap. I like Space Balls though. LOL!

I don't like anything scary either. :earseek:

Like the movie with Audrey Hepburn when she plays a blind woman and a guy is stalking her. :eek:

And I have to agree with Monkey Boy, I don't watch any of the movies on Life Time.

Okay you mentioned another I won't touch though... Psycho... I had to lock the bathroom door when I took a shower because of that one!!!!!! Anything like that will give me the creeps and I can't watch.

We get all of the movie channels on satellite, and that's a lot of movies to choose from. My current way to trim the list is to skip anything starring one of the minor Baldwin brothers or Christopher Lambert. You'd be surprised how many of those there are.

I also mostly skip anything with a colon in the title, like "Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story." But that's not a hard and fast rule. I'll be making an exception when "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World" hits the schedule, for example.

Maggie sorry but you listed some of my favorite movies too. I love Cocktail!!!!! Corny maybe but Tom Cruise is an awful hottie in it!!!!

For the most part, I don't like to watch movies on tv unless they were made for tv. I don't especially like swearing, but I really really hate it when I've seen a movie, and then I watch it on tv, and they edit those words out. It's very cheesy. I'd rather pay the money to see the original.

Now, if I was going to watch a movie on tv, I would watch the ones you've stated above. Those are all my favorite oldie movies. I LOVE Pretty Woman. I don't care how unrealistic it is. You're on a Disney forum, just sprinkle a little pixie dust, and I might even believe I could end up with Richard Gere :tongue:

Cocktail is another one of my favorite movies. LOVE it.

Now seriously, do you watch it with the sound off? Because MAYBE, a very far out there maybe, I could do it then. Wait ... let me think ... no, not even then. :teeth:

But I understand the rest of the movies. I just have odd taste in movies. Except ... all you Cocktail fans have to admit you have odd tastes too. :teeth:

The Abyss (there's another underwater movie I don't like to watch, can't remember the name of it right now though), Armageddon (I can't stand the ending with Bruce), Shawshank Redemption (I love to watch Tim Robbins' movies, but my SO has to watch that everytime it's on tv, I've seen it too many times), Porky's, any and all of the Tremors movies, Pokemon: The Movie. I'm sure there are more.

Anyone remember "Fast Times at Ridgemont High"? Loved it (hit my age group in the '80s), but when they put it on regular tv, it ruins it!
