Movies you just can't forget about.

Big Fish- I've never cried so much watching a movie
The Fountain- only because I was so confused by the third timeline
Bridge to Terabithia- I didn't read the book so I was a little shocked, not to mention it was incredibly sad

"Life is Beautiful." I cried for hours. I still think about it and I haven't seen it in years.

"Fly Away Home" - not sure why, but this movie was so inspiring.

On The Beach ... that movie got to me big time. It was a remake of a movie from '59 and its also a book.

What Dreams May Come

...watched it again the other night after recommending it to a friend...wonderful movie
I love what dreams may come.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button stuck with me too.

Also, now that I think about it, the original versions of "The Eye" and "One Missed Call" (for some reason the Americanized versions are never very good to me:sad2:)

"Old Boy" was pretty crazy too as was "Three Extremes" ('Dumplings' was my favorite vignette in that one -- yikes, what does that say about me?)

Hmm, I love independent movies, so one from that genre would be "The Dead Girl." I also found "The Devil's Backbone" pretty unforgettable and "Pan's Labyrinth" also because the little girl protagonist reminded me of my youngest sister.

One of my all time favorite crazy, unforgettable movies is a French film called "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not" -- I did not expect the twist at all with that one, but the movie was outstanding. I would love to catch it again and DVR it!

Also, "Death Proof," because I sometimes think about what my friends and I would have done in that situation.:scared1:

Aurore-- a french film with subtitles. Based on a true story it documents some horrific child abuse. The scenes in the movie are extremely graffic.

Crash

I went on a JG Ballad novel binge afterwards.

He wrote some bizarre stuff. Some of his works leave me scratching my head. I just received his novel "Miracles of Life" form Amazon UK. For some reason, it was never released in the states. It's an autobiography that deals with his life while in the internment camp and his life after. I'm not finished yet, but it's very interesting. It gives some insight into his mind and why he wrote the types of novels that he did.

Pan's Labyrinth-the imagery was so beautiful and haunting.
Brokeback Mountain-Have never sobbed so hard at a movie. I can't watch it to this day because I know what is coming.
Grizzly Man-was he brilliant? A moron? Amazingly lucky that he didn't die sooner?

I vote moron, whose luck finally ran out.

The Sailor Who Fell From Grace with the Sea

Kris Kristoferson and Sarah Miles in this 1976 film of obsession and fate

Dead Man Walking
I was 18 or 19 when that came out and I'd never really thought about the death penalty before. After that movie, I actually read the book and did other research and became very interested in the death penalty debate. My sister and I sobbed through the ending and I was in a funk for a while afterward.

On a completely different note:
Strictly Ballroom has always been one I can watch over and over. I think it's so artistic and funny and a wonderful happy ending that can leave a smile on my face for days.

Man, I'm showing my age and feeling old.

I really loved the foreign version of The Eye too. The American one with Jessica Alba wasn't as bad as some of the others remakes though.

Of course, because anything with Jessica Alba automatically makes it watchable (well, for me at least!!)
