My co-worker has to do a college project about a movie based on an inter-racial relationship. She can only think of "Save the Last Dance" and "A Bronx Tale" which half the class will probaby end up doing. I suggested Napoleon Dynamite- you know- LaFawnda. ... she laughed at me. Does anyone have a better suggestion?

Mississippa Masala with Denzel Washington, wonderful movie and it deals with the interacial issue from a slightly different perspective.

Wasn 't there a movie about this called Jungle Fever?

I think the Ashton Kutcher movie is Guess Who?

Monsters Ball is a good one, but might be very graphic and violent.

How about the one that stars the guy from "friends" and a very pretty mexican actress? They get married, she gets pregnant and she leaves b/c they are from two different worlds? His parents come to the house, not knowing they are married, and think she is a cleaning lady. At the end she goes into labor on the side of the highway. Somebody help me out with the title!

The Joy Luck Club would be a great one I think because most people wouldn't think of other races besides the black and white relationships.

Wow, thanks! You guys don't waste any time.:cool1: All sound like good suggestions... keep 'em coming. I even thought of one now that my brain is moving... Spanglish.

What was the movie that had Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner and he was her bodyguard?

I think the Ashton Kutcher/ Bernie Mac one was called Guess Who and was a loose remake of Guess Who's Coming To Dinner.

I also found one called O and is a modern update on Othello with Mehki Phifer, Josh Hartnett and Julia Stiles.

Very, very true. My Mom is Japanese and my Dad is of Irish/Scottish descent and when the topic of interracial relationships come up, folks never think of our family in that equation. Doesn't bug me, just makes me think, "HEY! HEY! HEY! We're interracial!!! Look at me! Asian green eyes! Come ON!"

The Bodyguard

And an older one with Keanue Reeves is "A Walk in the Clouds" takes place during WWII California, in the wine vinyards. He's back from WWII and meets a Mexican girl who's pregnant, but afraid to tell her large, old school, wealthy family, so he steps up and says he's the father. Beautiful movie!!

Love that movie!! Not because it's great cinematic accomplishment but because you have to have a little fluff in your life!!
