I am looking for movie recommendations. DH and I haven't been able to see any movies in the theater for quite some time. It just costs too much for babysitters, etc. So, I need some suggestions of movies to rent. Any genre will do: family, comedy, drama. The only thing we are not into is horror.

So, what are some of your favorite movies? I want to get some for some romantic weekends with hubby! I'll make his favorite meal and we can have some alone time!

Bring 'em on!

I'll tell you which ones that we did NOT enjoy over the summer.

Those were Little Man and Click.

The previews were the best part of both.

ETA: We saw Cheaper By the Dozen 2 with the kids awhile back. Cute! :)

"A good woman"

"The Sentinel"

Were good. At least to us!

We enjoyed Just Like Heaven, with Reese Witherspoon and Mark Rufolo.

"V for Vendetta" is an amazing movie. When the previews first came out I wasn't the least bit impressed but I watched it a few weeks ago and was blown away.

Dh and I watched Posiedon and The Sentinal this weekend and we enjoyed them both.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've been wondering about Cheaper by the Dozen! I appreciate your input!

Who is in A good woman? I can't even remember the previews for this one. Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have to say, I love the picture of your kids. Your twins are adorable. I have twin girls (4 years old). They are a handful, but I love them!

"Derailed" with Jennifer Aniston was good. Not so much for a romantic evening but it was a good movie.

Glynis....the new cheaper by the dozen movies are nothing like the book and original movie. Cassidy couldn't sit through the first one!!

My favorite recent movie was The Inside Man. I also reallt liked V for Vendetta and Take the Lead.

I loved this movie - I love Reese's movies though...
another cute one is Sweet Home Alabama too.

we rented 'find me guilty'. it was very funny and interesting as well. it stars vin diesel in a role unlike any other he's played (packed on a bunch of weight for it)-he portrays a mobster (based on a true story) who represents himself in the longest ever trial in u.s history. lots of good character actors in it as well.

i don't usualy like 'dumb movies' but i laughed allot during 'wedding crashers'.

dh also realy liked 'cinderella man'.

We just watched "Akeelah and the Bee" - it was great! :thumbsup2

How about IN HER SHOES? Good comedy drama with Cameron Diaz, Toni Collette and Shirley McLaine.

Best rentals lately have been (in no particular order):
Derailed w/Jennifer Aniston
Match Point w/Scarlett Johansson (EXCELLENT Little known movie)
The Squid & the Whale (not romantic but I love anything with Laura Linney)
Pride & Prejudice

Have fun!
