Movie: Newsies????

My daughter is doing a dance routine to Seize the Day in her recital this year for her musical theater class!!! We've been watching it on you tube. That song gets in my head!!!

Christian Bale is in it (he as a late teen at the time). I found that weird. But it was a great movie.

Have you ever seen "Empire of the Sun"? It's a Spielberg movie about a little boy's experience in a Japanese POW camp. He's the little boy. Couldn't be more than 10 y.o. and showing some SERIOUS acting chops.

Also glimpsed in the movie is a young Ben Stiller.

I haven't listened to the shows yet this week, but Newsies is one of my favorite movies of all time. The soundtrack is also incredible! I highly recommend it.

"Seize the Day" and "King of New York" are awesome songs. I also like "The World Will Know." Many of the songs are really inspiring to teachers in New Jersey right now. We're facing a major bduget crisis as the governor cut $400,000+ from state aid and will cut $819,000 next year.

Newsies is ever so vaguely familiar to me.
