I have been reading and lurking on a few other sites regarding WL..my question is < How has your past experiences been with Mousekeeping and the little extras? (towel animals and stuffed animals posed throughout room??)
I have read a lot recently that many people were disappointed that there was non of that going on....my kids would be absolutely thrilled to experience this!!! expecially my youngest. Do you think it would be worth mentioning something at check-in??? or since we are on the club level mentioning to the concieres???
I know it seems like such a minor thing but would be so much fun for the kids...some friends that have went and stayed at Pop Century said everynight they were greated by towel animals and such and that is was something that the kids raced back to the room to see.
Just wondering what others experience has been.

For the past two years, we have stayed at the CBR and we received lots of towel animals during both of our 10 day stays.

Next June, we are staying at the WL. I, too, have read guests talking about not receiving very many towel animals. I tip daily and usually leave a note for mousekeeping. If we don't receive any towel animals our first couple of days, I'll just leave a note for mousekeeping asking for one.

While everyone's experience will be different, we have had wonderful experience with mosuekeeping at the Wilderness Lodge. We have stayed concierge level the past 4 years. We don't always get towel animals, but they always have arranged the girls stuffed animals in some way or another. Somethimes they have them watching tv and holding the remote or playing tic-tac-toe with each other. The 1st year we stayed there we got towel animals. The next two years we didn't get any. This past June we received towel animals.

While these extras are nice, my main concern is that we get a clean room. The housekeepers at Wilderness Lodge are wonderful. Our room was always spotless.:)

We've stayed at Disney resorts over 40 times. About three times we've gotten towel animals. Yes, they are nice but we never expect them. We haven't even told our granddaughter about anything "extra" because if she doesn't know about it and it happens, it'll be even more special.

With the extras - know about them, don't expect them, appreciate them if you do get them.

We just got Sunday from our 7 night stay at POR. We had a great time...the highlight for my boys was coming back to the room each day to see what they had done with their stuffed animals! We left a $5 tip each day and we got towel animals/different poses all but one night. It was very cute and the boys got so excited. I'll have to download my pics because I had to take pictures of them all!:)

WOW!!! We just got back from an eleven night trip to POR...09/22 to 10/03...., we too tipped $5 a night, & we received exactly ONE towel animal & never once did the boys own stuffed animals appear anywhere other than where we left them!! It's amazing how different people's experience can be at the same place. Really, I think it depends on who is doing your room & how much time they have available.

Hi! We were at SSR for 10 days this September. We got a washcloth animal two times, our first and last day. There were no stuffed animals (do they actaully ever place those in rooms)? We had a duck and butterfly washcloth animal, and left both as we did not want to be charged? Do they charge you for these by the way? The butterfly was adorable! We did get a cute little surprise one evening... While we were at Downtown Disney we bought two Mr Potato Heads and before bed my son and I both made one up. Mine had a "Statue of Liberty" thing happening. When we arrived home (next day) from MK we found that our housekeeper had tied the thin, sheer white curtains at the middle (so it kind of looked like a mock bow) and then placed my Liberty Potato Head in the center (supported by the bow contraption). It was sooooo cute! :wizard:

We have stayed at ASMo and POFQ and have received 1 towel animal in all that time. We are kind of hoping we will have a few at WL. Our daughter would love it. We generally tip $4-$5 each night and there are three of us.
