Mousejunkies book - anyone here write it? or read it?

Hollywood Brown Derby, I think :)

Ahhhh - I don't remember reading anything horrible about HBD. I know we don't have plans to eat there - two DDP credits!

The book has made me want to eat at California Grill - saving that for our anniversary trip next year without the kiddos.

If anything I'd say there's a part of the book that makes me not want to eat at Chef Mickey's. :) But, we're still going to try to get ADRs for there. ;)

Hey, I hope you got a referral fee because I mentioned your book and named Bill Burke when I bought two contracts for the DVC in September!! LOVED your book. I hope you had a great time in WDW. Please tell all the mousejunkies that they have a lot of fans!!

It is a great book to read. I can't count how many times I laughes out loud while reading it. :rotfl:

OMG! I got this book and loved it! It was so nice to read about people who have the same obsession as myself. I loved the story about Bill & his wife buying into DVC. That was totally my DH & I! I wanted it and he was "We are not doing this. We are NOT doing this." Then he was the one to say gee this sounds like a good idea for us. HEHE! I think that more of us need to collect our love/obsession with WDW stories and bring out another Mousejunkies book.

We have both read the book and couldn't put it down. It describes us to a "t". Finally a book we "junkies" can relate to:cool1:

never heard of this book before, but I AM off to amazon to buy it for our upcoming trip! Sounds a LOT like *us*.

Those of you buying this book will love it. It's less a guidebook and more of an extemely entertaining trip report. 99.9% chance you'll say "that's us!"

Thanks Chefbilly for a great effort:earsboy:

Just to add to what my DH said...even our DD12 and DD9 have read parts of it, I have also read it over the phone to many of our friends!!

OK, so - one question: Will I no longer want to eat at HBD after reading the book?? Cause I"m really looking forward to trying it out!

Ahhhh - I don't remember reading anything horrible about HBD. I know we don't have plans to eat there - two DDP credits!

The Mousejunkies story re: HBD that I mentioned in my first post was the story of the junkies sitting in the restaurant eating dinner when a solo diner across the room starting vommiting all over his table---over and over. The one junkie was watching and had to alert a server or what was happening.

Definitely nothing that would keep me from eating at HBD, since a stomach bug (or whatever it was) can happen to any diner, anywhere.

Pretty entertaining book......I guess we are mousejunkies, too!

Is great...we do it everytime. This I had to disagree with....Ohana, for us, was HORRIBLE...The worst meal I think I have had anywhere...Horrible service and food...Chef Mickeys has always been top notch for us, and FUN

I'm now mid-way through the book and thoroughly enjoying it. Some real laugh-out-loud moments. The author is such a fantastic writer. Jealous!

I too am surprised by the glowing O'hana reviews. I mean, I enjoy the restaurant, don't get me wrong, but it's not a "must-do" or anything. And it consistently gets poor reviews.

But hey, to each his own. I just wouldn't base my ADR's on one person's opinions - go to All Ears and see a general consensus of reviews before making decisions.

Just finished last night, and thought it was great. I have no "real life" mousejunkie friends although one may be converting soon, so it was nice to read and know I am not alone. Although that's also why I'm always on the Dis.
The part about the DCL worried me a bit. We will be going in Jan for our first cruise and I'm nervous about getting sea sick. Granted it won't be hurricane season so that should help. Just reading his experience made me nauseous.

I also couldn't believe all of the stories about adults being brats while at WDW. I can't believe someone actually threatened to sue WDW if his kids didn't see the characters at CP immediately. Are these people serious? The guy with his "sock friend" was hilarious too!

Great book Bill. Very enjoyable.

I finally ordered the book and ended up reading the whole thing in 2 days! I cried through the first couple chapters, those sappy "I wish I was there right now" kind of tears. I'm so pathetic! We leave a week from today!

I found this book at my local library a week ago. Plan to read it while DD is getting her braces tomorrow. Will report back my opinions.

I just got the book yesterday and I can't put it down. It is so enjoyable. I just love it. It is definatley helping me pass these last few weeks until we head down.

when she talked about tearing up when she walked under the train onto main street, i teared up. mousejunkie for life. Bill's new book will hopefully be out by the end of the year, right bill?????

Read it. Loved it! I new when I understood the "code"that I too was a mousejunky and proud of it.:goodvibes

I have read part of it. I started it too close to our trip and then we left. I just got back on Sunday...so I need to finish it. Good book!!!
