Has anyone ever done the mouse boats? My folks are looking for something to do on their special day with my ds9 and dneph7 and thought the boats might be fun. Is the cost per boat or per person? Is it worth the 22.00/half hour. If they arent worth it could anyone suggest other things, DQ is a given but other ideas are welcomed. TIA

Just a note that the kids have to be 12 years old to drive the boats alone. They told us that an adult and a fairly large child would weigh the boat down enough that they would only go half as fast. :( . DS is an adverage size 11 year old that just made the height but they said he and I together would keep the boats from going very fast. We opted to wait for the next trip when DS can ride alone. If the kids are small and adult not too large it would be great fun. We saw lots of adults with small kids out when were were there this past trip.

We had alot of fun renting the boats. You not only have to be 12 but you have to be 5 feet also. I shared a boat with my 14 year old daughter and we didn't go as fast as my other daughter and son but we still found it alot of fun. Gina

Only two per boat? We are a family of 5, can husband take 8 and 6 year old daugters on one boat and I take 10 year old on one boat?

Those little water Mouse boats are two seaters. You can rent canopy boats or pontoon boats to seat more people, but they don't move nearly as fast and they aren't as much fun!

we had an absolute blast on the mouseboats--my son 12 drove DD 9, myself with DD11 and DH with DD9---we raced around the lake and all agreed that was one of the best parts of our trip--the boats go fast enough for non boaters--2 adults would not work--but I cant believe that a 14 year old could not drive alone--a must do event!!

Oh, she was able to drive herself. She just made the five feet requirement(We are small) but I was saving money wherever I could so we shared the boat. We had a good time and were able to move just not as fast as the lighter boat. Together I think our weight is around 225 combined. Gina

I can't wait to ride these when I get there. I was short on time my last trip, so this is definately and arrival day activity. Do you rent them at FW or do get them somewhere else? I know they are available at POR, but the boating area is a lot smaller.

The best place to rent them is one of the MK resorts. The Poly, GF, Contemporary, WL, and Ft. Wilderness all have them. When you rent at one of those resorts, you can zoom all around Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. We usually rent them at the WL and zip around Bay Lake for a while, then take them through the little chanel over to Seven Seas Lagoon. You can get a really neat view of the Magic Kingdom that way. I have a great picture from our last trip of my husband sitting in his Water Mouse in front of the Magic Kingdom.

We rented one at WL and had an absolute blast! My 12 DS got to ride it but we were pulled over by the "water police", they thought he was too small and they had to radio back to the place we rented it from. It was quite funny!

I'm "Pooh" size but we still went fast enough!::yes::

We did it with our 3 kids (6, 8 & 9 -- my dh and I each had a child, and grandpop took the other one) -- it was way cool, and one of the highlights for my kids.

We rented them at the Poly, then went to Ohana's for dinner.

I have rented the boats at the Epcot resorts and the MK Resorts. DON'T do the Epcot resorts...the boats are soooooo slow!! My sister, BIL and I each rented a boat while the kids were on the Pirate Cruise. We opted for the full hour which was around $30 with tax. It was definately worth the price. Very fun!!
